I dont think Harry and Ginny's relationship was a rushed one. In fact, there were subtle hints from Book 1 to indicate that they would end up together:
1) Ginny was the 1st girl Harry sees from the Magical World.
He also sees her on a Railway platform. Railway platforms are often used in romantic settings or to set the scene for a meeting of a couple. JKR also said that her parents met on a Railway platform.
When the train leaves, Harry watches Mrs Weasley and Ginny till they vanish from his sight. All of this is subtle foreshadowing of what would happen in the future.
2) In Book 2, we see more of Ginny from Harry's POV. Notice that whenever he observes her, he thinks in an almost poetic way.
For instance: He noticed her "bright brown eyes", her face glowing "like the setting sun", her "vivid hair".
Contrast to Hermione: He notices that she has "bushy brown hair" with "rather large front teeth"
And Ginny's crush on Harry was pretty obvious from the book. However, Harry does not seem offended or disgusted by the fact that she has a crush on him. Even when she sends him that singing Valentine, he feels embarassed, but not irritated or disgusted.
It could be assumed that he was a bit flattered by the attention he was getting as he never told her to stop or back off or anything of that sort.
3) Harry rescues Ginny from the COS, unknowingly creating a bond b/w them. The fight scene is also very symbolic and resembles "Sleeping Beauty" where Harry slays the Basilisk with a sword (like the Prince slaying a monster/dragon), while Ginny lay unconscious on the floor.
The whole scene had very strong "Damsel in Distress" and "Knight in Shining Armour" overtones
4) In Book 5, Ginny surprises Harry on many counts. First, she reminds him that she was the only other person who had survived a close encounter with Lord Voldemort.
Harry really begins to notice her personality. She surprises him on many counts by showing an aptitude for Quidditch, by showing a recklessness in her nature (similar to Harry's own disregard for the rules)
She listens to Harry when he's upset instead of nagging him and sees his POV, when they're talking in the library about Sirius and eating chocolate.
Whenever her boyfriends made fun of Harry or the Gryffindor Quidditch team, she broke up with them. That ties in with the fact that Ginny had given up on Harry, but not stopped having feelings for him.
5) In Book 6, everything comes together. Harry notices Ginny yet again as a very attractive girl after all these years and truly appreciates her fighting spirit and personality.
Hormones are raging throughout this book so Harry's feelings are more pronounced than they would have been in say Book 3.

great said, Myctica Magic 👏 👏 👏
I don't judge her on her looks,(not that anyone said that) that's actually fine with me, but I don't like her for a wierd reason,😳😕 by saying that I don't mean that I hate her, she's allright but I still like Hermione more.
I agree with you Myctica...but I somewhat feel like Princess too...i mean, its not becuase of her beauty in the movie but rather her personality...
maybe because we didnt get to explore her personality more in-depth like Hermione's so it juz doesnt make sense to me that they are together!! 😊
