So the news has been confirmed by Vidhya herself. A remarkable choice by Vidhya to step into the shoes of India's first and only woman prime minister. Who better than Vidhya to portray one of the strongest and most powerful women India has ever had! Generally films based on inspirational real life characters have been gathering fair to good responses. Her long and eventful journey which covers many noteworthy personal and political affairs and her no-holds-barred political approach would certainly make for an exciting script.

PS - I don't have any idea about the book by Sagarika, but just heard that it received polarising reviews.

No but you know how the Congress and the Gandhis will be up in arms about it. Naah... it won't happen.

Thoughts for Indira biopic have been entertained in the past, but it wasn't easy to make it a reality.

First time an actress played Indira Gandhi was the great Suchitra Sen in Aandhi! She nailed it, the hair, the personality, the walk, the attitude!

Vidya is an excellent actress so she will probably nail it too!

She shd watch Aandhi to see how Suchitra Sen did it.

Its funny how this article completely omitted Aandhi 😆

Aandhi was even banned at first because it was based on IG ...then after the Emergency was over the new Govt had allowed its release
