Shilpa and Hina are BOTH bad examples of girl power

I am tired of this ongoing debate about girl power between Hina and Shilpa and what they believe about women. I am breaking down why they are BOTH bad examples

Shilpa
- Self blames women and justifies men's behaviour: I think Shilpa comes from a very small, middle class family and has been brought up that men do one thing, women do the other. This is what most of our country from rural areas believe and we would be lying if that isn't true.

- Sees herself inferior to men: Shilpa lacks competitive spirit and believes that men are bigger and stronger so no point in trying. This is a bad quality. Our country had Sania Mirza, Geeta Phoogat etc, these women have broken boundaries

- Narrow minded: Laughing and joking about homosexuality early on in series, getting Lucinda (another woman in the house trying to learn your culture) out for being white instead of helping her.

- Doesn't look at equality of gender.

Hina
Just because Hina is not from a village and looks modern does not mean her thinking is modern
- Shaming girls for their appearance and encouraging boys too: Arshis lingerie, telling Luv to practically look at Arshis cleavage. Staying quiet when Priyank is fat shaming Shilpa/Arshi

- Shaming girls for expressing sexuality: Saying only about how Bandgi can get in bed with Puneesh on national TV but no blame for Puneesh?

- Sees lower class as inferior and beneath her: 'Gawaar' as an insult, commenting on Puneesh's teeth and face for being too dark

- Double standards: She shames girls for doing things she does. Arshi wears too short clothes but then she wears crop tops, swimming suits. She says Bandgigets in bed with Puneesh but she was always cuddling in bed with Priyank... why is she allowed and Bandgi cannot?

- Embarassed to be Indian: The fact a woman who has worked 8 years on a Hindi serial (where she films 15 hour shoots every day) cannot speak Hindi is a lie. She tries so hard to break away from her Indian identity but it's obvious she's a brat

SO my point is that BOTH of these women have not been good representation of girl power at all. I don't care how modernised Hina is as well, she has very backwards thinking as well if not worse than Shilpa at times.

The REAL girl power in this season has been:

Bandgi - she played this game with both her brains and heart, wasn't scared of her relationship, never once insulted personal appearance and even though she was modernised she never looked down on anyone.

Arshi - (I admit sometimes she made mistakes) but has guts as a Muslim girl to be the way she is and not change. She challenged Priyank for walking around without his top so why can't she wear less?

Shilpa's mind-set is a result of the conventional or rather regressive environment she grew up in. Her inherent nature is not mean, cunning or bad. She is rather a giving and self-less person and thats what matters.
Hina on the other hand is mean, selfish, hypocritical and a pathological liar of the first order.

Acquired traits can change with a change in environment and as a person grows and moves around in the society but inherent nature can not.

For me Shilpa any day over Hina

Shilpa never claimed to be flagbearer of women empowerment. But Hina always gave lectures on girl power. So it's only Hina who comes as fake here. Hina is the fakest of all.

Also Shilpa never had problem with Puneesh Bandegi's relationship. She always loved them both. It's another side of her that she can be open minded at times.

Haan, ignore everything I wrote but respond to one sentence. Both Hina and Shilpa fans have selective hearing, memory and reading ability. You know I'm right. Hina Ji won't love you less if you admit she has flaws like Shilpa has

Hina is the only one who comes as fake and manipulative here. She doesn't believe in women empowerment at all. She is all talks but her action speaks otherwise.

Btw she never targeted bandagi. She was disgusted by their vulgar antics and many people were. As far as I remember, I saw no support for Pungi's bathroom leela, everyone was repulsed by it.
Hina was talking about both punessh and bandagi, when did she ever solely call out bandagi?

Shilpa and Arshi also called bandagi characterless in unseen, wasn't that sexist?

I am more harsh on Hina because she should know better. She has spent the last decade in a very progressive environment and has achieved a lot. Despite being more informed about women empowerment she does an awful job at representing.

I give Shilpa benefit of the doubt for upbringing but she is wrong too at times
