A clip that fits the current situation

Something about the SBS segment triggered a memory of a scene in me. Apologies for bringing in Raaz, again. 😆

But hear me out. 😃

The SBS narrator in the BG said "Ek suhaagan apne suhaag ko bachaane k liye kya kya nahin kar sakti" and I remembered Prof Agni Swaroop's dialogues along the same line, hence this clip from the movie. Watch it from 5:00 minutes.

So, in this movie, we have a nameless spirit of a woman whose name got revealed in this particular scene. We had a nameless spirit in EDT whose name got revealed only a few episodes ago.

In the movie, Malini's oh-so-clever spirit tries every trick in the book to separate Aditya and Sanjana and gets success, eventually. In EDT, no such luck with Shiv. On the contrary, he has been quite the cupid, since his antics ensured Sharanya marrying Vyom. 😆

According to Agni Swaroop's lines (translating them in English here)-

"Sanjana is a woman devoted to her husband. And a wife like that serves as a trench to her husband. Even the Gods don't dare to mess with the relationship, and this is an evil spirit we're talking about.

This spirit has separated Aditya and Sanjana very cleverly. And now, Aditya is all alone and she will kill him to take him with herself."

^Sounds familiar? 😆

Ok, maybe not all of it, but the situations are very similar. The difference is, here both the devoted wife and spirit's target is the same- Sharanya.

"Ban hi jaa ab meri fannah hoke...yun na mujhe dard aur judaai de"- what exactly do you decipher from these lines?

If his comeback was simply for revenge, he'd have stick to those who were responsible for his death. He has been targeting Sharanya from the beginning, Vyom came in the picture much later. Unless it was Sharanya who was actually responsible for his death, it wouldn't make a lot of sense for him to do that (once again, I could be wrong).

His couplets has been laced with a myriad of emotions since the beginning- ranging from heartbreak, jealousy, extreme possessiveness, feeling of betrayal, etc.

His recent couplets mostly sound...defeated? Mostly, it talks about Sharanya being someone else's in her present.

the show name starts with saas... what could u expect from that...n they only write such cheesy dialogues...even if we say saranya loves vyoom( im not here to start a war) the suhagan angle will be cringeworthy!! i seriously think indian TV has to move on from that kind of 80s drama...saranya wanted to protect people she care for...her family, vyoom cz she belives the spirit killed her dad!!
she even married a friend to protect him!! so there is no wife angle...she is a nice human being...
y cant we all be little progressive and not have a dutiful wife tag on saranya...her charecter is more than that...
to the point, it is a clip given to the media houses to promote the show as a trailer cant be launched for this high point drama...if u see the camera angle u would understand...sbs do not have a crane to take high angle shots...so they won't be given the storyline

His shayiris are confusing in themselves- sometimes suggesting undying love and at other times, betrayal. The ghost himself is angry at times, and protective at times. It is clear that he loved her intensely and passionately, but perhaps he has a misunderstanding that needs to be cleared before he can leave this realm and proceed to the next. Sometimes, a spirit does not know its purpose - as far as Shiv is concerned, he wants S to remember and disentangle herself from the web of lies, but what if there is something, a reason, deeper than his love for Sharanya that keeps him here?

There are still many unanswered questions and without actually knowing what lay in the past, assumptions and parallels of the present are a bit redundant. If Sharanya had her memory intact, if she knew what transpiried in those 2 years of her life, would she have happily married Vyom? My guess is, Not. We dont know if what Vyom's story is true. My guess is, it's not. And so, if it is not true and Vyom was not the true love of her life, and Shiv was (as has been indicated on occassion), its unclear who the third person is, and Sharanya would have to remember and deal with her loss and mourn for Shiv before she can move on.

But then Sharanya probably has a layer too that is hidden from all. And at the moment it is cloaked in superstition and stupidity!

Just my opinion, Thanks for reading!

1. No one's being regressive by calling Sharanya a "dutiful wife". She wants to save Vyom at all costs, whether as a friend or as his wife. We get that.

2. When it comes to "love", I believe everyone is entitled to their own opinion and we should respect that. I remember quite a few comments where members were positive that the name of "Shiv" is bound to trigger something in her or give her some kind of flashback or send butterflies in her tummy, but well...nothing happened. On the contrary, it wasn't until Vyom forced her to remember the past that she remembered being scared of some obsessive stalker. So yeah, the "love" part is extremely subjective.

3. Why exactly do you think that being a "wife" is regressive? Especially when the woman in question chose to get married in the first place? Hell, I didn't even want them to get married this soon, I wanted them to progress naturally. Also, it was Sharanya's own words, not mine- she challenged the spirit with the holy things and declared herself as Vyom's wife. Here I am simply repeating the words said by SBS and trying to find the similarities b/w the 2 situations.

4. Yes, it was indeed a clip from the episode which was probably already rendered, or maybe it was a raw clip, I don't think I brought that into discussion. How is it even relevant?

point 2:- a patient in partial amnesia doesn't react to names just like that ..but instances and situations...if she shows some reaction to the name then there is no mystery in the show...shiv is the mystery...if she reacted positively or negatively then viewers can easily guess the storyline.

point3:-saranya said I will protect ur son n my husband from te spirit( not exact) to madhvi...im saying pls don't limit any character with a wife tag...declaring herself as vyooms wife is not the problem...it is the truth but...all I'm saying she is not doing all this just cz vyoom is he husband..and suhag ko bachane keliye n ol...she wants answers y this spirit is haunting her...so im saying there is more to this charecter than just being a typical hindi serial bahu...whom they always potray as a mirror image of savitri...which is boring!!

@Bold red- Just replying to this bit since rest are mostly assumptions (we all are assuming things, so chuck it).

If you ask me, Sharanya seems like the dark horse in this whole drama. The show has been very clever in marketing the two men as the "deewaanas" and not giving out much on Sharanya. She is definitely not white-washed. Let's rewind what we have seen and heard.

1. Madhavi called her a "player" in episode 17. Her exact words "iski bholi surat pe mat jaao, she is a player"! Madhavi's hatred towards Sharanya seemed like the story of a typical, possessive mother who doesn't want to lose her son to a woman. But then we got to know that she was the one who thought that Sharanya was the perfect girl for Vyom and it was Rajan who was against the relationship for whatever reasons. Accident takes place, 2 years passes and we see how the tables have turned. Madhavi is dead against her and Rajan is hell-bent on getting them married! Something must've taken place in the course of these 2 years, perhaps before that, that changed Madhavi's mindset towards her so drastically.

2. In last night's episode, Sharanya very conveniently painted Shiv as the reason for every bad thing that has happened before and after her marriage. Ok, I understand her blaming Shiv for the murders, his image has been spoiled beyond repair in her eyes, especially after the rape attempt (yes, I will have to take the possession into consideration unless the CVs come up with a brilliant explanation for Vyom doing that for whatever reasons- if at all he did it). However, I didn't get her blaming Odhni's arrest on Shiv in front of Sadhavi. This kind of made me doubt her immediately.

3. Last but not the least, the seductress Sharanya. In all honesty, she could have just taken Vyom out on a date with the same setup. Done a close, romantic dance with him and waited for Shiv to take the bait- why decide to consummate her marriage with him all of a sudden? Shiv did show up the last time VaNya were dancing together. So yeah, I guess, the CVs have thrown hints all around, we have only been seeing what we want to see.
