From this video clip, I have the impression that he likes Sonam too.

It's not a biopic nor is it a remake of Twinkles' novel 'The Sanitary Man from the Sacred Land' so everything is possible...

I don't think it's love : more like fondeness. Not to forget that Sonam's character was pretty much the only one who believed in him and pushed him to pursue his dream. That must have created some sort of affectionate bond between them but I don't see it as being more than friendship.

But overall, they seem to share good chemistry : can't wait to see the movie.
I'm repeating myself but love the kind of work she is doing lately.
