Filmfare:2018 Bollywood movies release calendar

Filmfare brings to you a compact list of all the movies to look forward to in the year 2018. With the hope that 2018 will be a year of blockbusters, we present to you the new year's movie calender.


January

The first month of 2018 itself will bring with it films like Saif Ali Khan's Kaalakaandi, Siddharth Malhotra and Manoj Bajpayee starrer Aiyaary and Akshay Kumar's PadMan. Kaalakaandi will be releasing on the 12th of January, whereas the other two films will clash at the box office on Republic day, that is the 26th of January.


February

This month has a good mix of comedy as well as drama in the line up of movies that are slated for release. While Anushka Sharma's Pari will release on the 9 th of February with Luv Ranjan's film Sonu Ke Tittu Ki Sweety, Richa Chadda and Pulkit Samrat's romantic thriller 3 Storeys will release on the 16th. After which Rani Mukerjee's Hichki will follow on the 23rd of February.


March

The third month of 2018 will bring with it a dry spell as there are not many films that are slated for a March release. What will, however, mark March's fate is Ranbir Kapoor starrer Dutt Biopic that will release on the 30th of March.


April

The summer is expected to start on a high with films like Varun Dhawan's October and Kangana Ranaut's Manikarnika lined up for release. While October will be out on the 13th of April, Manikarnika: Queen of Jhansi is expected to clash with Tiger Shroff and Disha Patani's Baaghi 2 on the 27th of April.


May

The month of May will see two big releases in the face of Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal's Raazi and Kareena Kapoor Khan and Sonam Kapoor starrer Veere Di Wedding. Raazi will hit the theatres on the 11th of May, while Veere Di Wedding will release on the 18th of May.


June

June is expected to be a month with an appropriate mix of massy and artsy cinema. While the month will start with Salman Khan starrer Race 3 clashing with Anil Kapoor and Aishwarya Rai Bachchan's Fanne Khan on the 15th of June. It will end with the release of Diljit Dosanjh, Angad Bedi and Taapsee Pannu starrer Soorma.


July

This month is currently ruled by 2018's most awaited debutants. Janhvi Kapoor and Ishaan Khatter starrer Dhadak is slated for release on the 6th of July.


August

After a gap in the month of July, August will bring with it back to back films that will hopefully set the box-office ringing. Arjun Kapoor and Parineeti Chopra's Sandeep aur Pinky Faraar will release on the 3rd of August. Shraddha Kapoor's Saaho will release next on the 10th of August, followed by Akshay Kumar and Mouni Roy's film Gold, that will release on Independence Day. August is expected to end on a high with Shahid Kapoor's Batti Gul Meter Chalu, which will hit the screens on the 31st of August.


September

After back-to-back releases in August, September will have Varun Dhawan and Anushka Sharma's Sui Dhaaga: Made in India to look forward to. Varun has already started prepping up for his role in the film.


October

Vidyut Jammwal starrer Junglee will release in October 2018. The film promises to show action sequences like never before and has ace director Chuck Russell directing the film. Junglee will release on the 19th of October.


November

The month of November will bring with it two big releases of the year 2018. Aamir Khan, Amitabh Bachchan and Katrina Kaif starrer Thugs of Hindostan will hit the theatres on the 7th of November 2018. Hrithik Roshan's Super 30, on the other hand, will release on the 23rd of November.


December

The last month of 2018 is expected to end with a bang with three big films lining up for release. Abhishek Kapoor's Kedarnath starring Sushant Singh Rajput and debutant Sara Ali Khan is slated for release on the 21st of December alongside Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif and Anushka Sharma starrer that is temporarily called Dwarf. While Rohit Shetty's Simmba starring Ranveer Singh will close the year by releasing on the 28th of December.

First half of the year looks to be slow.
...and is it me or does it seem like there aren't as many films this year?

Looks like 2018 is going to be a repeat of 2017 with most commercial films flopping and few small surprises here and there. I guess next exciting year for BW will be 2019 with lots of money invested. It will be a make or break year. That is it will decide if public will go to cinemas to watch films or shift online completely.
