I love the way Anika reached out to him and held him to keep him from falling down. I also loved the tender moment where they have their hands entwined before he helps himself up with her help to hold the board. Can I say the writers made it symbolic by leaving Anika to safeguard ShivOmRu. Or I am reading too much.
Awesome Foursome
The emotional connect between the foursome is intact. They have been partners to very many scenarios in the past. They have been a unit to solve many OM issues. I remember Anika telling Gauri and the guest that she has a long history with the brothers and that she knows all of them very well. How true it is. It's amazing to see the bond strengthen each day and remain invincible.
I was watching this Malayalam movie Ustad Hotel where the grandfather sends out a message to his old friend saying...I've taught my grandson HOW to cook, you must teach the PURPOSE. He explains that it is easy to feed a person stomach-full but it is important to make his heart-full by giving him delicious food. Such a feel-good movie it is.
I love how NM and SC bring about the variation of smiling through the tears and tearing through the smiles. It's elegant and graceful as they bring out this distinction. The message I mentioned above goes for the scene between Anika and Shivay enacted by NM-SC. Ultimately they are actors delivering the script. But it's important to engage the audience with those little nuances added while enacting it. When you see her watch Shivay speak, her tears well up gradually. It is not about adding on glycerine and getting a tear in one eye and leaving the other look fine. It is that gradual welling up that makes me (the viewer) feel the moment that Anika experiences and makes me believe in her connect with the three brothers.
Shivika share a glance when he wants her to respond to Ru and she looks at him before she speaks to his brother about him. It is the casual approach with which she explains to him "Tere bhai ki zid tujhe pata hai na. It is endearing to see that she can say "Mere SHivay and claim him with "aap bhi toh mere ho na in an instinctive manner given another circumstance but sticking to address Shivay in relation to Ru's relationship with him. She values their bond more than anything; she values her husband's bond with his brothers which make her say TERE bhai to him. She takes pride in his (Shivay's) identity as their (OmRu's)brother.
And when she watches him talk to his brothers, all you can see is the space she gives them in spite of being there with them. And for once, it doesn't feel just an enactment of scene. It feels like she and him respond seeing what each other does. It's like watching a real life situation, one reaction over another instead of each one just saying what they are expected/entitled/rewarded to do. It was such a beautiful bade bhai/bhabi/chote devars relationship explored and enacted with purity.
The bond is fascinating. And it's an understatement. Shivay realizes that she is feeling overwhelmed seeing them physically apart. It hurts her to see all three of them hurt. He can't physically ease OmRu's pain, but in that moment, he can only embrace the person close to him who is close to OmRu too. It's like telling her not to feel hurt and in the process derive strength to handle this separation.
Miles apart but close at heart.
Ru retains his innocence in requesting Anika to return so that his brother will follow her to OM.
Om, I would want to understand that he is hurt by Shivay leaving. He has always been running away from responsibilities. I so wish it is a learning process. I wish the writers give us clarity as to why Om has not asked Shivayto return. See, even in Ramayan from where they have drawn inspiration from, Bharat was the one who goes and meets Ram to convince him to return. Deliberately, the Bharat Milap is not discussed. Am I asking for too much?
I would have loved to see Om being the first to seek Shivay's return. Or should I give him the benefit of doubt because he himself was too eager to leave OM when Svet was brought in by Tej. It was Shivay who decided for him that NO one would leave OM. So it doesn't matter that Shivay is out of this house. Today he was the one running his hand on Ru's shoulder to calm him down when Ru was suggesting ways to return. Does that mean he is okay about Shivay leaving OM or he doesn't try because he knows that if Shivay has decided to leave, he won't change his decision? But I'd wanted him to confront Jhanvi about it mentioning that Shivay was the one who took care of her when she decided to burn herself over Tej's decision to divorce her. Om was the one who asked Ru why he did not accompany Shivay. SO should I believe, he is happy for Shivay that he got a good chance to run away from this madhouse. Or can I trust the writers to remember that there is something else that Shiv has shared with him and Ru before he left to Germany . Koi wajah toh de do.
I know, am sounding greedy.
Coming back to Ru, how prompt was he to say "woh Shivay bhaiyya se pitega. He is clear of what he wants. I really liked Lee's voice modulation throughout. He has this sad and tired way of talking specifically when he said Bye to Shiv in the end of videocall.

When I talk about how I would have wanted a scene for any character, I am talking ONLY about the character, not the actor. The question is for the writers who plan scenes for them. I may have opinion about how I rate an actor. Doesn't mean I be denied the right to even mention the names of characters they play.
