EDT~ ep 42, 19.12.17, My stance. Once upon a time..
Much cliched opening to fairy tales.. something that happened long time ago in the past. Sharanya's reference to her father not making it in time for her wedding, sets the mood of the episode for me. The opening scene shows the power of familial love, as it stands today for Ram and Suman Bisht's seeing both their children grown up into young adults. Ram epitomizes the typical father who sees his daughter as his proverbial princess for whom he dreams of seeing her living happily ever after with her prince charming! namely Vyom. Sharanya, is like the typical daughter who conceptualizes her father as her infallible hero, who fights all odds to see his daughter happy. The suggestion of Vyom's very name brings in the musical tunes of sunshine knocking at the Bisht's door step, with promises of happiness and joy. The only unseen, ghostly setback is the warped in time image of Shiv at the outside of the Bisht's house. Nawab the family pet dog barks to raise the alarm of beware ghost about!! and Ram leaves his family to travel to his previous house.. time keeping is important .. for Ram he has to fetch the goddess Durga's idol and make it in time for his daughter's marriage. For Shiv it's spare no time in following Ram and eventually thwarting a fathers effort at keeping his promise to his daughter!
In due course Rajan finds out about Vidyut s blunder that he commits by sparing Odhni free, to seek evidence against Rajan. All of Vidyut's fears were not unfounded. He clearly misunderstood that his brother is indeed and an ever seeing eye! Only a crook needs to have his back covered at all times! Rajan would give Vidyut a hell of a time! But in the end Rajan too partly gives in, under the blood is thicker than water mindset... but more so he gives Vidyut another chance so Vidyut can this time, seek Odhni and finish her off before she takes drastic measures against them! Rajan s priority is getting Vyom and Sharanya married off with minimalistic snags. But he too is plagued by the fact, as to who is safeguarding the dagger and blood stained piece of cloth in this point in time.. Madhvi s lurks.Vidyut's yelling brings her to see the third degree Rajan subjects him to. Does Madhvi have some knowledge of the dagger and the blood stained cloth???
At this point in time, Ram Bisht too leaves his family ,much anxious about their safety. Shiv travels with Ram in the rear of his car.
All in time, investigation reveals to Freddy that the finger prints do not match Rajan's this means Odhni has no grounds really, upon which to stop Vyom and Sharanya's wedding! But the puzzle still exists whose blood is on the cloth?? Odhni believes its the ghost's who in turn continues to trouble the couple . But the big question that remains hanging in time is if Rajan's presumed killer's finger prints don't match , than who is Shiv's killer???
Devil of a time.. despite seeming calm Sharanya and Vyom both go through terrible and difficult times. She has nightmares and he is tortured by guilt prompted sleeplessness. Shranaya's face off with the spirit is fury, defiance and caustic. Furious she taunts Shiv's spirit has been defeated at its sordid game of turning loved ones , dear ones against each other, turning Vyom against her . She mocks, his blows have brought them closer than before .Cruelly Sharanya harps on at the spirit , that it 's the loser, lonely! As Vyom and her are both backed by their family.. while its existence is perpetual solitude! Donal's voice modulation and body language brought much conviction to the scene.
But it 's Vyom who lurks about outside her room. The scene between them shows some connection, a tender understanding and simple empathy. A pure affection . Both Donal and Vikram carried off the scene incredibly well. Vikram looks convincing in his role of Vyom having a delayed reaction, yet intense guilt within himself. Vyom I think is desperate to win back her trust. The pain from within him manifests. The whispered inadequacy he feels, his confession of his loves supremacy being ineffective in comparison to the spirits consistence passion. His needy persona, of course taps into her nurturing strengths where she gently repeats it was the spirit that was responsible for his actions! But I suppose Vyom's masculinity suffers a blow ,by allowing Shiv's spirit to overpower him! Sharanya reminds him objectively that it's no human they fight ,but rather some paranormal being! warped by the wounds of past times .. Sharanya attempts to alleviate his fears.. their fight from now on will be a concerted effort!
Ram reaches his old house. The signs of gone by times are felt in nostalgic, memories of his children's laughter, Nawab's barking, all felt in cobwebs of passing time.. cobwebs need to be cleared around the contents of a letter? Shiv follows him, but stops near the altar. Like any faithful devotee, along with devotion for one's deity ,there also exists a fear of the deity's power.Ram's removes the dust of time off Mata's idol.. and with a contrite heart pray's I bow to you goddess Durga who ends all miseries, the radiance of your light is limitless and pervading .all the three realms are enlightened by thee. Your visage is like the moon and your face is celestial. Your eyes are red, they glow with wrath ,goddess your view is enchanting... Ram begs the goddess for forgiveness and pleads for protection for the children..
The goddess's powers reaches Vyom and Sharanya through a father's prayers .Yet again Sharanya reminds Vyom , he has Durga Maa's protective amulet around his wrist. Vyom in all honesty confesses his fear of being possessed again .. he wants a vow from Sharanya that come what may.. will she promise to be his till the end of time... she promises.. nothing ,no one, will separate them. So after the possessed ordeal Vyom ends up emotionally secure.. Ram collects Durga goddess's precious idol is about to leave ,when he notices a letter on the altar. Shiv watches, as at last! this father returns to read the letter written by his daughter to him.. "she is facing something terrible, no one knows about it .. but she needs his help..Ram is perplexed about the time Sharanya must have written this letter to him?? but it dawns on him, at this moment in time his daughters life is facing imminent danger! Could Sharanya have killed Shiv??? will time tell? or Shiv as the speaking dead?
Ram flees but can he make it past Shiv's furious presence?? Shiv watches Ram as he trips! Shiv recites his emotions in verse.. "With the vows I made and with all my desires', to bow down to my love and with a request. There are some tales, behind the distance between us'. You don't know who has come with a conspiracy disguised as love. hamlet53 20.12.17
