Vikas Bhalla has made a roaring presence from the time he entered the already successful and popular show on Colors, Udann (Guroudev Bhalla and Dhaval Gada).

As the mighty character of Ranvijay, Vikas has played the role with great aplomb and has been received well by the audience!!

Now, with Ranvijay getting back in a more venomous avatar post the leap, the talented actor looks forward to taking the character to greater heights.

Talking about his journey with Udann, Vikas states, "The journey has been good. The response has been great. A lot of credit has to go to the writers as the character has been written so very beautifully. As an actor, you are just doing your job. If the character is written well, half the battle is already won.

Vikas has played the baddie before but this role according to him, comes with lot of difference. "I think I have been able to tap places inside myself which I did not know existed. The response has been very good and that makes me happy.

Vikas feels that Ranvijay has gotten back to the show now, with a more aggressive approach. "He is lot more hard-core and rustic and more ferocious. Earlier, his hands were bound as he had to abide by the law as he was a police officer. Now he is not an officer anymore. So the boundary or limitation to hold back is not there. So he is going all out. I have earlier played the bad guy in Jassi Jaisi Koi Nahi, but this is of a different zone. It is rural, earthy and rustic. The language, diction has been different. I am enjoying my run. I look forward to my shoot every morning and that's the best part for an actor. After playing the lead roles in shows, it was a deliberate move from me to play the bad guy. I am glad that I am enjoying the role.

On teaming up with Imli in the dirty acts, Vikas with a laugh says, "As I said, the plot has been written very well. The characters have been etched out beautifully, whether it is Imli or Ranvijay. It is always good to play a character that's well-written. This makes a big difference

On his rapport with the leads in the show, the versatile and senior actor states his mind, "It's been wonderful. Vidhi (Pandya) and Meera (Deosthale) are relatively new in the industry, but what they bring to the table is a very good and fresh approach. Of course, for Meera, she's playing an author-backed role as she is the main lead. But what has surprised me is the manner in which Vidhi has carried out Imli's role, especially post the leap. I keep telling her that for an actor, 50 percent of the work is done if he / she looks the character. She is doing a fabulous job. I love the way in which the creatives have re-designed the look and feel of the characters, whether it is Sooraj, Chakor, Imli or Ranvijay.

The rating of Udann has simply been rocking. "Yes, God has been kind and the show has been blessed with good ratings. But as I say, it is not the effort of just one person. It is a complete team effort coming from the creatives and actors. The success of Udann is everybody's trophy. Television is hugely a writer's medium and the way our writing is shaping up, we believe our ratings can go higher in the coming days. Anything is possible. So we want to work really hard.

Vikas credits the Producers for the long-standing success of Udann. "All in our team are highly co-operative. There is a very good networking that happens between actors. The credit goes to the Producers to have kept the actors together, happy and motivated. Everyone is doing their part towards their characters. Nobody is encroaching in each other's territory. And this actually tells in the execution of the show and in the ratings that are coming.

Vikas, may you continue to rock as Ranvijay!!

Thanks Amrutha
I don't feel RV is more aggressive, I feel he's a buffon. He's dangerous but this is more due to his craziness than his wiles. He's a mad dog now, I wish they'd show him more controlled, he showd be arousing fear not ridicule.

What's with everyone's obsession with Imli's looks? Appearances may catch your attention at first but without being backed by a good performance it doesn't matter. This is damning with faint praise.

He didn't mention VJ when he talked about the leads, thank God he remembered Suraj is still in the show.

He is a senior actor but still don't know that someone playing full on negative character is called Vamp not lead.
Thank God ,at least realising for Meera as main lead.
Is it mandatory to praise somebody's look and acting capabilities for everyone when giving IVs.
This media portal in particular doing hard work to promote someone.
I would like to know what is VJ in the new equation after leap.
Why he is being ignored by media in articles ??
May be still so far he is not seen anywhere praising somebody's look and acting.

So true yaar
Everyone is behind vidhi's looks n looks thats it.As he himself said that half job is done wid appearance only but they dont realise its just that half.Other half is visibly n significantly missing.

After leap i havnt watched full show only watching chakor suraj n sukor.yesterday i saw some of her scenes.they were so plane. when she was asking suraj to get rid of chakor i couldnt feel any threat and vileness.😕

Why no one is mentioning VJ looks. His minimal is much harder to carry then her over maximum.😡
P.S. Is it just me or others also feel that whenever vidhi tries to give expression of threatening it looks like she is going to cry.

to be very very honest,Vikas Bhalla never impressed me,I have watched him in "Uttaran",he played Veer after the generation leap, and I used to call him a "a serious over actor"...
I was neutral for him when he entered Udaan, but he did impressed me as Inspector Rannvijay,he had that swag for the uniform, but now I am unable to believe that he is the same...
what has seriously happened to him?

He is so,so unconvincing in the role he is playing, even Shikhu is much better than him

VB really needs to analyse his performance and work on his skills

I did mention in my earlier posts that Imli looks as though she is in the verge of crying...

She doesn't threaten at all..

what has really happened to everyone???
Has Imli become the official lead of Udaan?
Is Vidhi going to be nominated in the Oscars for "best actress category"?
Has Suraj really become just like any random 'bastiwaala',just for being?
Have the makers and media forgotten that since June 2016,the show has only one usp i.e Sukor?
Have the media forgotten that VJ is still the best among the starcast?

Thanks for this article

The cast obviously has to praise each others work and their own work too. Trps will decide if the audience has accepted the leap and the character changes post leap.

Yes chakor has the author backed role in Udaan and she is the main lead.

VJ is the male lead and i believe they are not mentioning surajs character a lot because they alot of suspence elements to the character, which will come out slowly.

Hope media dont make it meejay vs vb vidhi.

I am not impressed with VB acting post leap but i guess that opinion will continue because according do him he is doing his part well.

I liked that he gave udaan success credit to the entire team. He is right.

Media has nothing with this. It's our beloved production house of Udaan. There are sites that usually post only about Sukor. But since the leap happend they are tagging Vidhi in Sukor's olvs, posts and spoilers even when there is no mentioning about Imli. I blame only PH.
I don't understand how people who made such a unique show, who created Suraj, Chakor and the most beautiful story of Sukor can be so "stupid". How they didn't realised that the more they throw her in our face we more hate her. And I sometimes think they know that and they are doing that purposely. But why don't they think that after Udaan Vidhi will grab another show and people maybe won't be able to forgot all this. I'm sure I won't be able to watch any Vidhi's show after Udaan even if she improves her acting skils just because her professional behavior and because she was so much favored by makers.
