As its 'Virushka' fever at the moment, I was really torn whether to share this funny incident just now or not. In the end, because its topical, I'm going ahead! Before that though, many congratulations to the two of them because they do make a beautiful couple and genuinely seem very happy together!
So around late summer 2015, my cousins and aunt happened to be visiting me in London and I'd taken them shopping & sightseeing near some of the more popular tourist spots. As we were exiting a shop, my cousin went rigid and screeched "Oh look! Its Anushka!". Following her gaze, I saw the two of them walking on the pavement right outside the shop. Unfortunately, they'd heard her too and without a backwards glance, started to walk quickly away. Before I could take stock, my young cousin and her little brother, very excited to have seen a Bollywood star, rushed out behind them. Me and my aunt, worried where they were off to in a crowded, busy shopping street ran after the kids. By the time we spotted the kids, Virat and Anushka had jumped inside a tiny convenience store and the kids had gone in after them! 😲 My aunt too ran in to get the kids. When i finally entered the shop, I could only see Anushka and my aunt talking...Virat was nowhere to be seen. As I looked around, to my absolute shock, I see him crouching behind an aisle full of bread, looking very nervous 😆 I couldn't figure why he was hiding but it made sense later that perhaps they didn't want to be seen together! My aunt by this time had requested Anu if she would mind taking a snap with the kids as they were obviously big fans. She wasn't pleased at all and asked for it to be quick, grimacing at Virat as she said so! He however didn't emerge from his hiding spot and kept peeping out occasionally to see if the coast was clear! My aunt took a photo of all of us with Anu and then I made the big mistake of asking my aunt if she could take a photo in my phone too!! Anu went livid and started asking me if I'd heard of technology and that photos can be shared! I was too stunned to say anything further and internally cursed myself for getting starstruck at all! Seconds later, Virat emerged and grabbing her they hastily left the shop. Anyway, after all this time, I look back at it as quite a funny incident esp the fact that V felt compelled to hide from two kids! It would have been a sweeter memory if they were a tad less angry but as I'm no celebrity, I cannot imagine how irksome fans are. The episode ended on an even funnier note as the younger cousin mistook Virat's identity and innocently exclaimed "But why was Fawad Khan hiding from us?" 😆 😆
