Hey there all the lovely people!!
It was a heartbreaking episode. Yet after falling down it's time for one to get up stronger, this fall from grace would be a realization phase for KanUm - call me weirdo optimist but KanUm cannot be separated ever.
A special shout out to Avinesh Rekhi and Rhea Sharma for they are just outright BRILLIANT đ
Now to discussion..
~ The pain of separation (from someone you love) is sometimes greater than death ~
Despite all the odds stacked against Kanak, Uma for the first time uses his stony powers to be a wall for her. There is no right or wrong but whatever she says. He accepts her demand, her silence to not reveal the truth, her approval for him to remarry, her stand on their divorce - he accepts it all but places the responsibility of the final result on her, that whatever happens it would be on her.
Kanak asks him to sign and gets Massi's sign on the property papers... defying their expectations to have stepped back, Kanak stands brave and courageous, the slow movement of her hand to take the file from Uma says it all, the reality of things is setting on her, but she takes it all. Her tears don't fall till she is alone - that's the apparent future of a person willing to bet on relationships, but for Kanak it's a momentary phase of realization that she looks up to Shivji for help and support for she is alone.
The way they both look at each other while the other is turned away, the pain is obvious in their eyes, the tremble of their lips, the nervousness in the shaking hands, the tears of anguish that threaten to fall any moment.
Uma asks for five minutes to talk to Kanak - I am loving this Uma. He asks her to consider her decision once more, for this final signature would officially separate them... Kanak reminds him his own words that their relationship isn't dependent on any piece of paper, signature can't separate them, she reminds him their marriage when she was unable to understand anything that time he said that their marriage was fixed by devon k Dev Mahadev and it can't be broken...Uma for the first time stops her and asks her not to try to fix wrong with her words - did he mean not to justify his forced marriage or to justify this divorce.
Uma is conflicted and is concerned with the legal proceedings, whereas Kanak is bound to him by her heart and their love, it's the reversal of roles which is at play here. Both of her scared yet one stands decided and other is helpless as he had promised to be at her side no matter what.
Kanak looks at the papers, her hands shake, she remembers the threat and signs with tears rolling down her face while Uma looks at her pleading with his eyes to back off, he is shocked to see her sign... and when he signs she turns her face away, so that he doesn't see her tears and refuse to sign... their divorce is finalized.
It's when Uma is about to walk out, he says that he warned her of it, his trust is unshaken but their marriage has expired and they are strangers now... despite trusting her he feels betrayed. - things done for greater good can sometimes hurt one or the other more than they can imagine. The pain of betrayal, the loss of loved one, that the person who was world for you is now a mere stranger. The feeling is unexplainable.
