Zee TV's popular show Woh Apna Sa is set to see a change of production guard.

IndianWikiMedia has learnt that the show, thanks to its comparatively good ratings and audience connect, has received a one year extension.

However, the original maker of the show, Alchemy Films, headed by Siddharth P Malhotra, has decided to move out of the project.

Reason?

Let's hear it from Malhotra: "With one year extension, economics is not working out. Financial unviability is the reason. We will miss it for sure.

Who Apna Sa stars Ridhi Dogra, Sudeep Sahir, Disha Parmar in lead roles.

Well, with Alchemy moving out of the picture, channel is expected to assign the project to some new production house or run it under its in house banner Esselvision.

Only time will tell.

Is there a possibility of a rapprochement and Alchemy, the brains behind the project, returning to the scene?

Is this news true??? If yes then there is a good news too that the show is not ending. But I don't want any change in the production house too, they are doing it so well.

Meet Deepak Rajadhyaksha (Deputy Business Head, Zee TV) and you will immediately find a connect with his persona, which is vibrant, passionate and has a veneer of intelligence & experience, which makes him a cut above the rest.

Under his able aegis, Zee TV has found a solid footing in the Hindi programming genre, drawing audience in hordes, entertaining, engaging with the masses and also amplifying brand connect, augmenting business prospects.

Woh Apna Sa is one show which is a jewel in the conceptual crown of Zee TV (in recent times), which has seen a rise in popularity over time.

However, it did ruffle feathers when maker of Woh Apna Sa, Siddharth P Malhotra of Alchemy Films quoted stating financial woes' and moving out of the project.

Now, at IndianWikiMedia, we believe and live by the idea of real credible journalism and make all necessary attempts to put across all sides of the story.

Accordingly, we did connect with Deepak. After a gracious welcome conversation, he shared the core of the matter which led to Alchemy's exit.

"There is absolutely no financial angle to it. Siddharth did mention to us about his desire to move out of the project couple of months ago. He did create the show and it has connected with the audience. He mentioned of keeping busy with the release of his upcoming film and not being able to give time to Woh Apna Sa. Last night, thus, Alchemy opted out. It was his call, nothing to do with us.

So what about his claims of the show getting an extension and monies being the reason for his exit? "I have no idea why would he say that. The show is yet to complete a year and extension talks are still on. It's a good project, and now that Alchemy is out, we will get on board a good production house to continue with the journey. Decision will be taken soon, summed up Deepak.

Well, now we have the story come full circle. As a publication, we are not here to judge who is right and who is wrong...only report what is correct and be the voice of people. Now that we have both the versions out, we can only hope that loyal admirers and fans of Woh Apna Sa continue to enjoy watching their favourite serial. As they say, the show must go on'.

I am not sure how reliable this news is. Because everything depends on trp. As Raghuveer Shekhavat told us that for 2 months it is not going off air. But if this news is correct I will be the most happy person. I will definitely like to see WAS for other year. I hope trp should show the magic.
Concept wise it's a great show no doubt. I hope it will get the mass response too.

Looks like the change for Woh Apna Sa on Zee TV wasn't just limited to the recent 20 year mega leap that it witnessed as post Riddhi Dogra's replacement, the show is now going to see a change of production house.

We contacted Alchemy Production owner, Siddharth P. Malhotra, who said, "Yes, the truth is due to financial unavailability, the show was heading to a year's extension and the revised number we couldn't do it in...So, we mutually decided to part ways and work on something else. I will now concentrate on current commitments and the new shows under development."
With Alchemy Productions no longer on board with the show, the question remains who will the channel contact for production next or if the show will be given to the channel's in-house production.

What will happen in the future, only time will tell.

I think the news of the production house changing is definitely true not sure about extension news.
