Camaraderie
They had been walking for three days, "Hey ghosty, can't you just teleport us there with your powers. Geet whined for the umpteenth time and got a glare from ghosty. "Really as if this is my fault, in your excitement you didn't even bothered to me ask me for directions, when I said left you took a right, now we are lost...great ...of all people I'm stuck with you...are you sure being the reincarnation of the Princess because once we get there you will know how different she is from you, He said.
"Well ghosty, looking into your history, I don't seem to trust your decisions, analyzing how many wrong choices you made. If you had been a courteous ghosty and married my poor granny then we wouldn't be here and I would not have ended up in this tent, She said pointing at the long gown she was wearing making it difficult for her to walk.
Maan laughed hearing her making her fume more and well the next second he got another round of whacking from Geet. "Some violent creature you are, He said running his arm which was hurting with Geet's punches.
"Who is there, They heard a voice. "Now behave like a lady, He said and turned around to see a young woman approaching them. Before Maan could say something Geet spoke, "Hey do you know where the Palace is. Maan wanted to strangle her for being so outspoken. "Are you foreigners, The woman asked. "Ah, my sincere apologies, milady, but we are lost and would request you to guide us to the Palace. We want to meet Prince Maan for trade purposes, Maan spoke. "Oh, alright, this way, The lady said and they followed her. Sometime later, they were standing in front of the Palace. "Thank you, you're a life saver, Geet grinned shaking the woman's hands. "Its my pleasure milady, The young lady smiled. "You have got a very enthusiastic wife, Sir, The young lady smiled looking at Maan while Geet was shocked hearing this. "Hey...bu..., before she could speak again he cut her, "Ah, thank you milady. The young lady left them while Geet looked at ghosty furiously. "What was that, She said. "What.., He tried to avoid her questions but he forgot who is up against. "Wife...who the hell will marry you...you stupid ghosty, She yelled. "Well, for your information, in this era people were not that open minded as in your era so just shut up and let me do the talking here, Ghosty warned.
They went to the Palace guards and he went in to inform the Prince of their arrival as the King and Queen went abroad and would only return on the day of the wedding. The Princess was outside and she asked the guard the matter who informed her about the travelers.
The Princess came outside, "Greetings, young Lord and Lady, how we may help you. Geet was now grinning ear to ear seeing her granny in flesh and blood. "Wow gra..., again she was cut by Maan, "I apologize for the intrusion Milady, we are traders . My wife and I were here to meet Prince Maan but unfortunately we lost our way and my wife is unwell too. "Oh, that is unfortunate young Lord, I will call my fiancee right now, The Princess said concerned. Her innocence made her buy that story but Maan knew that the other him was a tough nut to crack as he wasn't that gullible.
"And may I know which country are you from young Lord, came a voice which made them look in that direction. "I'm from ...Jade kingdom, Maan said now recalling there was a shipwreck and some traders did lose their way. "Alright, then do you have a proof of that, Prince Maan asked. "Sir, do you not trust our credibility, Geet interrupted this time. "It's not that Milady, but as you can see, I have to assure the safety of my Kingdom first so I ask you the proof, Prince Maan answered. "Your Highness, the lady is unwell, please we should help them by providing them shelter, Princess Geet requested. "Maan check your pocket, He heard Amrita's voice. "It is alright Sir, here is the proof, Saying this ghosty Maan bought out a seal from the Jade kingdom thanking Amrita in mind. "My sincerest apologies Young Lord, you and your wife are welcome in our adobe, The young Prince said. Ghosty and Geet followed them. "Looks like your old self do have an ounce of manners left, Geet whispered. "Just keep your mouth shut and let me do the talking alright, Ghosty warned again. "And don't call her granny, call her Princess or Geet but not granny got it or you will blow our cover, Ghosty warned. "Alright, if you say so, She conceded.
They entered a huge hall and the Princess invited them for supper. "You must be tired from the long journey, so before you rest in our guest rooms, please join us for supper, The Princess smiled. "Thank you for the honor, your highness, Ghosty said.
He went ahead and pulled a chair for Geet but Geet being the tomboy sat on the other chair looking around. "Sit down, what are you standing for ghosty, She whispered for only him to hear. "I forget that you are not a lady so no need to be courteous around you, He taunted taking his seat. The Princess started serving Prince Maan when the spoon dropped from her hand spilling some hot soup on her delicate hand.
"Can't you for once stop being careless, Prince Maan's angered voice echoed in the hall making Ghosty and Geet to look up. The Princess got scared of his voice and few tears were there in her eyes.
This made Geet fume and she was about to get up and give this stupid Prince a piece of her mind when Ghosty held her hand and signaled her to be quiet.
"I..I'm sorry, it wasn't intentional, The Princess said in a meek voice. The Prince turned to the maid, "Do you need an invitation to bring the medicine for her, He said sarcastically still angered. "I will bring right away Sir, The maid said. "Good, but remember if I see a scar on her hand, you will be punished for your slow reflexes, He warned the maid who was on her toes knowing she will be punished if the Princess was scarred.
"Ghosty leave my hand just let me punch the living hell out of this moron for hurting my granny, Geet said. "Wait just don't do anything foolish, Ghosty warned and received a kick from her beneath the table. "Ow Ouch, what was that for, He said.
"Well this is an alternative method, the more that jerk hurts my granny the more kicks you will receive, She shrugged.
"Is it hurting, I'm sorry for yelling at you, but please be a little careful. I don't have healing powers or else I would have healed you here, They heard the Prince's concerned voice and Geet looked at her granny and found her smiling. The maid bought the medicine and he carefully applied it on her hand. Geet was shocked to see the sudden change in attitude of the pompous Prince who was yelling at her granny and now he is caring for her, may be her granny was right he did care for her. "So ghosty, it seems we have to make the stubborn you fall for my granny and make them confess, Geet grinned making ghosty nod and look at the happy Princess ahead regretting that he never notice that her smile was always in these little moments of care they once shared.
