Geet & Dev were intense lovers till Dev got attracted to Naintaara & began to have an affair with her without Geet's knowledge. One day 
Dev: I have to go to Canada as my uncle is a heart patient. I will come within a month. Then we will get married.
Geet: Fine.
A month passed but no information from Dev. Geet decides to go to Canada to find out Dev's whereabouts. She meets Maan at the airplane & is scared.
Maan: Are you traveling by flight for the first time?
Geet: Yes.
Maan: If you are so scared then why do you travel by flight?
Geet: It has become a necessity for me. Otherwise, why should I travel by flight?
Maan: I know that many girls go by flight in search of their lost love. Why don't they move on in their lives if their boyfriend ditches them?
Geet: I am not that type of a girl. I am going to my relatives place.
Maan: Is that relative your boyfriend?
Geet: You men have got one-track-mind. Yet you call us stupid. The fact is all men are b*****ds.
Maan: Hey, mind your language.
Geet: You have no right to tell us stupid. If you are interested, I tell you the truth. I am going in search of my love. He had promised me that he will be back in a month but didn't get any information from him. You may find it stupid but you will understand when you fall for somebody. It is easy to say move on in your life but it is difficult to do.
Maan: Did he do anything physical with you?
Geet: He wouldn't dare to do that. I'm not cheap.
Maan: Well, it is none of my business but if you want, I can help you. Do you have his address or contact number?
Geet: I have his contact number but not his address.
Maan: That is why I say that girls are stupid. But since you have the contact number, I will see what best can be done. Can we become friends?
Geet: Sure.
The flight lands in Canada. Maan offers a job to Geet to work for him as a personal secretary. Geet accepts the offer.
After the office hours, Geet calls to Dev's number. Naintaara picks up the call.
Geet: Can I speak to Dev? I am his girlfriend.
NT: I am Dev's fiancee. We will be getting married shortly. Don't ever call this number again.
Dev sees NT talking rudely. He asks, "To whom were you talking to?"
NT: It is your girlfriend Geet. I told her that we are going to get married shortly.
Dev is guilty, cheating on Geet
NT: What happened?
Dev: Nothing.
NT: So, Geet was absolutely right in saying that she is your girlfriend. Now I know you are cheating on both of us.
Dev: Nothing like that, I have always loved you. I was marrying her only for her property so we can live a luxurious life but our plan got foiled because of you.
NT: So, you are blaming me for that. I came in between because I didn't want to lose you. Anyway, I made a mistake loving you. I am breaking this relationship.
Dev realizes his mistake & goes in search for Geet.
Geet gets broken-hearted but focuses on her work and does great work. With the passing time, she slowly forgets Dev & falls in love with Maan. Even Maan develops those feelings for her but does not know what is in Geet's mind. Geet is staying with her friend Pinky. Both have been coming & going together to the office. Maan & Geet come close to each other. One day Dadi comes to KC. She gets impressed with Geet & wants her to be Maan's wife as she sees the glow on her face for Maan. Dev & Maan are friends. He comes to Maan's office for the job purpose & is shocked to see Geet working with Maan. He gets jealous seeing Maan & Geet getting closer. One day
Maan: I wanted to tell you something but was hesitant. I love you.
Geet: I love you too.
Maan: Can I know your ex's name?
Geet: He is Dev. He is newly appointed in your office.
Maan gets shocked. He works out on the plan to find out whether he is the same Dev. He puts both Dev & Geet to work on a project. Dev is happy. He said, "It is unbelievable that you are here."
Geet: I had come all the way only for you. I called to that number but a lady named NT picked up the call & told me that she is your fiancee. When I have not got any information from your side for one month, I sensed that something is wrong. You have just proved me right.
Dev: I agree that I made a big mistake. NT broke up with me after getting to know about our relationship. She was giving me hard times. The person whom I thought as a stone & rejected her has turned out to be a gem & the person whom I thought as a gem & accepted her has turned out be an ordinary stone. I love you Geet.
Geet: You are too late. I have fallen for Maan Sir & decided to move on with him. What is the guarantee that you won't do this to me again?
Maan comes to the cabin. He said, "I have heard the conversation. Dev, I have considered you as my best friend but you have broken my trust. I've never expected this from you. I am ashamed of calling you as a friend. Since I have appointed you, it is better we have an employer-employee relationship.
Dev: Yes, my actions have made me lose everything. Please forgive me Maan Sir.
Maan: I forgive you because I'm good enough to do that. But I am not a fool to trust you like before.
He then takes Geet home & tells Dadi, "I have decided to marry Geet."
Dadi: Nice decision. Geet is really a gem. I wanted to talk about her to you but you are going to fulfill my dream. I am proud of you.
Dadi arranges the Maaneet wedding with lots of guests. After all the rituals, Maan & Geet get married.
