Baa's back at work!

Sudha Shivpuri, popularly known as Baa of Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, was injured on the sets some three weeks ago. Thankfully, the ever-popular grandmother's injuries are not serious. She suffered minor bruises and a hairline fracture. After three weeks of rest, she's back to work now.

We asked Sudha how she's feeling now "I'm alright now, but the pain persists. My doctor has prescribed some medicines, especially Calcium for bones. I am thankful to God that there was no major injury. However, I am still not able to climb my vanity van staircase. I must add that all the Kyunki unit
members have been very helpful."

How was your first day of shoot after the three-week rest?
"It was quite emotional for me as everyone kept inquiring about my health. I felt happy to be with my Kyunki family again. During my time off, I received numerous calls from the creative director of the show. Even Ekta was worried about me and inquired about my health. Now that I am back to work, everyone takes good care of me on the sets. With all the attentioned being lavished on me, I feel that I'm very precious to the Kyunki family.

We also spoke to a source from the production house about Baa's injury.

"We are taking good care of Baa as she is the most important member of Kyunki family. Right from the spot boy to her co-actors, everyone constantly inquires her if she's taken her medicines. Although she is still a little uncomfortable from her recent injury, she shows up for the shoot. Although we tell her to take some
more rest, being a true professional, she insists that work comes first. Her scenes will be telecast this Monday."

The good news for all her fans is that is that Baa will soon be back on screen blessing the Virani family.

Baa (Sudha Shivpuri) is the wife of late veteran actor Om Shivpuri Both of them joined National School of Drama and were trained under theatre guru Ebrahim Alkazi. They got married in 1968 and started their own theatre group 'Dishantar'. The couple produced many plays, some of which were directed by Om. Their most memorable plays are: 'Aadhe Adhure, a Hindi classic written by Mohan Rakesh, 'Khamosh! Adalat Jari Hai' and the Hindi version of Vijay Tendulkar's Marathi play 'Shantata! Court Chalu Aahe' (Silence! The Court is in Session) with Sudha Shivpuri in the lead role. Sudha is the mother of famous "Lal Dupatte wali" girl Ritu Shivpuri.
