'S' - A Success Story

The secret of popularity is not only limited to 'K' serials alone. Now, 'S' seems to be headed down the successful lane as well

Be it Sarabhai vs Sarabhai, Siddhanth, Special Squad, Super Sale, Shanno Ki Shaadi, Shararat or Saarrthi, the 'S' shows are well-accepted and popular. What's so different about them? None of them are the 'K' series with a saas-bahu angle. Yet, they are popular! Breaking the tradition of 'K', 'S' has emerged as the next trendsetting letter. They are trendy, breaking the monotony and look at tried-and-tested themes with a fresh perspective!

Taking the idea further, the stars behind some of the most popular characters, have an 'S' factor as well. The very Indian wife, the ideal bahu of tellyhood, Smriti 'Tulsi' Irani, and her not-far-behind counterpart, Sakshi 'Parvati' Tanwar are cases to the point.

And who can ignore the inimitable Shekhar Suman (The Great Indian Laughter Champions and The Great Indian Comedy Show) who can do a unique take on politicians, stars an socialites with panache. Sachin and Supriya, the real life jodis, have proved that they are not only great actors but good dancers as well.

In other serials, the characters that add to the charm are 'S'mash hits as well. Sujal from Kahin To Hoga, Kumkum's Sumit and Saroj in Bhabhi can be recalled in this respect.

So, what's the story behind a 'K' or 'S' or any other letter in the alphabet that seem so intrinsically linked with our serials and characters? Astrologically, a person's name is not only their calling card, it also determines how their life will unfold. One of the techniques is the 'Kabbalah'. This ancient Hebrew system is a letter-and-number analysis that helps you discover what the mathematics of your name add up to in terms of work, relationships and spiritual energies.

The way you spell a name can bring the person fortunes or ill-luck. Numerology is another aspect to the names which has made many of the stars add a letter or delete one, so what if it doesn't sound exactly right?
