Neil actually never ever showed an iota of respecting his mom. When leap started him going to his dad's gone for food was a big thing so it's obvious he's not regular in that house and shweta probably has to beg him to come there and meet. She often drops by police station and then he gets embarrassed with all the Tillu talk. Shweta contacts Neil through DD Matlab apne bete Tak direct connection nahi. I am baffled why cause from fb it's obvious shweta was always this silly Shakespearean fool type lady but a strong presence in his life, like a bff. Probably after juhi he left house and tried to separate his hurt by distancing from his mom who probably wanted to share his pain, talk about it, and he didn't want that. Remember during Holi epi he said to avni pyar aise thode hi nahi hota Hai, so that time his marriage was fixed yet he could not tell shweta that he's still not ready yet. And shweta as a mom probably felt since Neil is unhappy with this relationship cause he's giving another girl juhis place but he will move on, she's right too but wish they had a tete-a-tete regarding that. She wanted to do best what she felt was best but Neil never tried to get her, that connection from him wasn't strong enough. Which is so sad cause I feel nobody in the house respect her so she wants that validation from her son who also disrespects her. He openly verbally abuse her (Rhea and his chunri, many other instances) and Calls her names and she forget all to stand by him every single time. I am not saying he needs to be a doormat to his mom who is wrong, but that respect is missing. I hate it when kids talk over parent and Neil does that all the time. In a perfect show there would be a track about mom son fixing their relationship and shweta getting her respect in the house cause she's one tough intelligent lady, albeit a bit rash. Neil is a lot like her than he's say bebe or Prakash.
