There seems to be no end to the woes of Sanjay Leela Bhansali' s 'Padmavati' . After numerous protests leading to a ban in the states of Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh, now Bihar has joined the league. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar too has ordered a ban on the movie, till everything gets sorted. This comes even after Supreme Court' s order which states that people holding public offices have no right to ban the movie, and CBFC remains the only deciding authority on the matter.

The CM ordered the ban after BJP MLA Neeraj Kumar Bablu, who is a Rajput, sent in a written demand for the same. Apparently, the ban will be in place till controversies around the movie cool down.

'Padmavati' stars Deepika Padukone in the titular role, Ranveer Singh as Sultan Alauddin Khilji, the antagonist, and Shahid Kapoor as Maharawal Ratan Singh, the king of Chittor and Padmavati' s husband. Ever since the movie went on floors, there have been troubles for the same. Shri Rajput Karni Sena attacked the sets of the movie and beat up Sanjay Leela Bhansali, all over a rumour that there would be a fictional dream sequence between the Queen and Khilji, which was even refuted by the makers. However, that did not sate the 'Sena' .

Further troubles began when the trailer of the movie and a few songs were released, and all hell broke loose with protectors of culture placing bounty on the heads of Bhansali and Padukone. Death threats and threats of setting the theatres screening 'Padmavati' on fire were issued, which led to the makers deferring the release date of the film indefinitely, from the originally intended one, December 1.

However, not just Supreme Court, but some Rajput royals, and even ministers have come out in support of the movie. Let' s see what will be the fate of 'Padmavati' .

I am not liking these bans...I guess this is the truth...other parties indulge in minorities' appeasement...ruling party indulging in rajput appeasement now...everything is to garner votes
