us tarah to nawabs, nizams and other Muslim rulers were no different either... they also acted like pawns of British...

javed is being hugely criticized for generalizing all the Rajputs like that...

point 3 - on top of showing padmavati dancing, she was also given a costume that's not synonymous with Ghoomar...another inaccuracy.

point 4 - if these many inaccuracies were not present on the first exposure of padmavati to the public then I'm quite certain that the whispers abt SLB playing with Rajput history would not gained strength but the ghoomar song definitely added fuel to the fire of suspicions regarding distortion of history. in absence of that song there would have been little to indicate that SLB is taking too many 'creative liberties'... ofcourse how meek Ratan Singh is being portrayed in comparison to Khilji in the trailers and posters etc. is another matter too.

but that is the point naa...everything is based on assumptions by looking at just 1% of the entire product. Also the protest are not at all peaceful by any means.

Had there been a demand for banning post release, that wud even make sense. But right now, no one has seen what they are protesting against. At least the protestors havent and then too such violently.

If you think this way then every community will have something to complaint against every movie, but is this the right way for anyone to do so ? Protest nicely by all means, take a morcha, wear black dress n stand in front of the threatre or the promotional event venues. Everyone has a right to do so, India is a free country, But remember that the way few have a right to protest, same way few also have a right to decide which movie to watch and which movie to avoid, similarly SLB also has a right to create the movie he wants to and DP has a right to star in any movie she wants to.

Announcing rewards to behead the director n the female lead, is not the right way, no matter what one is protesting for.

yes ...earlier there were only suspicions based on SLB's track record but after the song & trailer those suspicions got a base and gave rise to many other assumptions. not to forget, the already prevalent rumors abt the scenes bw padimini and khilji. now if instead of showing rajat and arnab, had SLB shown that movie to some members of Rajput royal familes then right now at least they would have been there to in-validate those assumptions and rumors spread by some people. but instead SLB chose to break that promise made to karni sena abt showing them the movie before release and went ahead to release the trailers and songs, and then showing it to Rajat as if he was the one who was protesting...just to bank on his credibility, while completely ignoring the main players of this controversy i.e. the rajput royals.

banning post release wd hardly make any sense... by that time the damage wd have already been done ...and it would be just beating about the bush.

a lot of people, including myself have always said that violence in the name of protests is not acceptable...but because SLB let his PR go out of his hands, now the situation has escalated to some kind of a mob-mentality where someone announces a bounty of 5 core, another increases it to 10 crore...and then a few days later we'll hear about an even greater threat... the things should not have been let go out of hands like this, both by SLB & his marketing team and also by the govt...but politicians ka to u know, they are always driven by vote bank, especially now that we have elections near... all the parties including BJP, Congress are singing the same song.
