Since the song released I have not been able to take it off repeat. So beautiful, haunting, gut-wrenching. 😭


I keep rewatching the video and for the life of me, I can't understand how Shahid is getting flack for his potrayal of Ratan Singh. I love the vulnerability and softness he brings to the character. Masculinity comes in different shades, just because the character isn't loud and in your face doesn't mean he's effeminate. It's like if a man shows any type of emotion or vulnerability, he's automatically branded effeminate and girly. This stupid mentality pisses me off. 😵

Okay, so I was super skeptical about Shahid acting in this movie just because I don't find him to be the strongest actor and plus I was a little wary of his chemistry w/ Deepika. Shahid's chemistry w/ his co-leads is always hit or miss.

BUT FRICK, THAT SWING SCENE IS BEAUTIFUL! Like legitimately beautiful and I cannot get over it! Their chemistry is so beautiful and you can feel the love in air. So wonderful!

And Shahid's eyes! The speak volumes! Did not expect them!

And Deepika is fantastic as always! I was afraid that she would perhaps be Mastani part 2 but so far seems good and different. That last scene with her minute expression change is gut-wrenching and impactful! Fabulous!

Cannot wait for the full version of this song and for the movie to be released!

Shahid just makes me go weak in my knees with his expressions. He portrays every emotion correctly through this eyes. Deepika on the other hand does nothing except smile. she looks like someone dressed heavily for some shaadi...doesnt look regal AT ALL; and its not because of the costumes, mind you...its her lack of expressions. Its quite boring actually- if there is one weak link in this movie its Deepika. Both RS and SK are amazing, powerhouse actors. DP is just a warm body playing the titular role.
