This is not meant for bashing or anything, I just want to find out about your genuine opinion. Do you think the Indian audience will accept a cheating wife (if this follows the Turkish version)? We all know the TRP audience's love for Mahan babus, such that strong female leads eventually get converted to Mahan bahus involved solely in family politics after awhile/ after marriage. We also know how willing they are to accept cheating husbands. But is the Indian audience ready to accept cheating wives as well? If so, will such wives only be perceived as vamps or as fallible humans who make mistakes?

I think this show is not catering to the preferences of the so-called TRP aunties. Its target is a niche audience. I think viewers who will follow the story and invest their time long-term in this show won't be too harsh on it. There is already foreshadowing of sorts as to how the story will progress. I think, if shown sensitively, people like us will sympathize with the characters along with their flaws and their unintentional misdeeds. If the makers want the show to retain its gravity, they can't change the storyline to appease the TRP aunties. If they want numbers though, then they might change the storyline and ruin it.

Mind you, those familiar with the Turkish show know that the characters are all doomed. This show is not a fairy tale. It's a precautionary tale that symbolizes how one bad decision can ruin your life and those around you. The way I see it, this story is not about justifying infidelity. Its about feeling sorry for the characters. We are not even supposed to like them. We are to pity them and learn from their mistakes. If they leave the cheating aspect out of the show, the story will lose its impact.

Anyhow, I think people are capable of accepting unusual characters nowadays. Recent example is Maya from Beyhadh. Most viewers loved her, irrespective of how dangerous she was.
