
Despite her films not making huge money, Kriti Sanon always found producers lined up to sign her for their films. And then released Bareilly Ki Barfi which changed Bollywood's perception towards Sanon. She is now seen as a combination of glamour and talent.
Diljit Dosanjh had an impressive debut in Bollywood with director Abhishek Chaubey's Udta Punjab. He was paired with Kareena Kapoor Khan in the film which revolved around the drug menace in Punjab. He went on to do Phillauri with Anushka Sharma.
The release date of Arjun Patiala hasn't been declared yet, but it's likely to release by April, next year.
Her Raabta director, Dinesh Vijan, is returning to direction with a new film titled Arjun Patiala and he didn't have to look beyond Kriti Sanon for his leading lady. The film will feature Diljit Dosanjh opposite her.
In the film, Kriti plays a journalist while Diljit in the titular role is a quirky, small town guy. It's a character-driven comedy with a touch of magic realism and great music. The film will roll in February 2018 in Punjab.
Talking about the project, Dinesh said, "The Hindi film audience has already experienced Diljit's intensity, now it's time to laugh with him. Kriti is moving from Bareilly to Patiala to deliver another small town surprise and this time she is holding a pen.
Kriti, who is extremely excited about the project said, "I love watching good comedies and while shooting for Bareilly Ki Barfi I realised that I enjoyed being a part of this world too. I am really looking forward to start shoot for Arjun Patiala with Diljit who I feel is extremely talented and I am also thrilled to be back with the Maddock team.
