8 years of Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani: When Salman Khan, Ranbir Kapoor

It's been exactly 8 years since the release of Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif starrer Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani. The romantic comedy film, directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, was a big hit at the box-office and is counted among Ranbir's most successful films.

Apart from the beautiful chemistry the lead couple shared in the film, Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani is remembered for Salman Khan's special cameo in the film. The cameo received extensive coverage in the media especially because Salman and Katrina were in a relationship then and Katrina, as rumours suggested, was getting closer to her co-star Ranbir during the shooting of the film. Well, we all know what happened later. Katrina soon broke up with her longtime boyfriend and got into a relationship with the Kapoor lad.

In the cameo scene wherein Salman's character meets that of Ranbir and Katrina, he tells Ranbir, "Tu aise darr darr ke mila raha hai, jaise tu apni girlfriend ko meri bata raha hai." No one had even the slightest of idea that something similar was about to happen in the real lives of Salman, Ranbir and Katrina. Today too, when we think of the trio, this scene from Ajab Prem Ki Ghazab Kahani is what strikes our minds first. It's almost impossible to believe that Ranbir and Salman - who don't see each other eye-to-eye - once shot for a film scene together. Times change and so do the equations between people.
