Huge defence budget

Some days back , I read one discussion , about Canadian army😆.. we all laugh over it, I think all Canadian do😆

But I am thinking , what is good situation for a country over all , a big portion of defence budget , or big portion of budget for civilians and have a friendly approach towards neighbouring countries. May be it doesn't matter for countries like Canada but if I think about third world countries they dont' have food for their civilians even then they are spending huge amount of resources towards their arm forces.

So what do you think , One should have a great army , or they better deviate their funds towards civilians😊

Different countries have different requirements wheather they are from first, second or third world. For a developed nation like Australia a large defense budget is not really needed as they don't share borders with any country and they are already under Uncle Sam's protection. 😆

Lekin for a country like ours a large defense budget supporting a large defense force is imperative. When you have neighbours like Pakistan/China both nuclear powers with large armed forces with whom we have fought wars and they still claim parts of our territory, you would be idiot not to have a large defense budget. Our defense budget is still smaller (in terms of % of GDP) compared to China/Pakistan and many other country. Waise bhi look at our history, since the time of Alexander we have constantly been attacked, looted and plundered by foreign invaders, agar uss time strong enough forces hoti to abhi ka nazaara kuchh aur hota.

It is not as if Govt is not spending money on social sector, thousand and thousands of crores are being spent on various schemes every year..lekin proper utilization kabhi hota hai, most of it goes into curruption/incompetancy.

As Deepak said there is fixed budget of countries and comply to that good or bad ..there is balance between
eat stomach full when there is threat of being blasted into piece by a bomb, or feel safe while straving .. leave on leaders ... if wrong go vote urself in next election..all the best. 😛
