In a year when so many films come, there comes 1 film which has the maximum buzz out of those & it becomes BIGGEST OPENER of the year with highest Day 1 figure of the year.

Some key things about this list:

- This list shows that no matter how big your film opened, if audience doesn't like it they won't make it biggest of the year.

- Trend of Multistarer has 90% chance of getting biggest opening.

- From 2006 to 2016, every single big opener has clean HIT Verdict, a Record of 11 Films in a row back to back, let's see which film who will open Year's Biggest & with it's end failure could break this chain.

I am waiting for Tiger Zinda Hain. I loved Ek Tha Tiger; remember going to watch it with my friends because I bunked a few lectures and then saw with my family.
Bade miyan chote miyan was the best comedy movie for me. It's such a tragedy that we don't get good comedy movie these days.
Om shanti Om was a total entertainer and so was Main hoon naa.
Wasn't Ghajini the movie that started 100 crore club 🤔
Salman's movies are total family entertainment and you can watch with your family. I hope keeps doing more films like these.

cant believe Mission Kashmir opened bigger than mohabattein

and i think biggest opener of 2016 is Dhoom-2

You mean 2006? Dhoom-2 is biggest Grosser (ATG), Film had some bad luck as it couldn't opened in some screens on opening day, 2nd biggest opener of the year.

BOI -

Record Opening Weekend. Did not release on some multiplexes due to revenue sharing problems. Business was hit especially in North but still came out with fantastic numbers. Also grossed around 75 lakhs with its dubbed Telugu version.

Dhoom 2 on day 1 couldn't break record, but on Weekend it scored huge.
