Sat Episode - Fine Print

All right, here goes the fine print on popular request..

Fri : Not much to say, save for Priyank's somewhat flat entry and Pooja's so called viral song.. I am happy to see that Vikas and Hina are not overdoing it with Priyank like week 1.. Hope they can maintain it.. Other highlights: Sapna OTT reactions (does not practice what she preaches) ; Hiten's sporting side and Hina finally showing some maturity and chops to resolve conflicts instead of just reacting.

Sat Episode

Overall:
This season is not good in terms of production quality, flow and continuity.. Right from poor editing, to content discrepancy between promos and telecast, to character build ups.. It has been very abrupt and confusing.. .

Salman continued to look bored... Though the host and visiting guests are given a script and flow by the creatives, there is a certain personalization that Salman brings to WKW which has been missing this year. . This week was full of content, right from changing power equations, bullying and side switching. None of that was touched, however the episode had some interesting underlying psychological twists that may turn the game a bit..

Gauhar and the Special power:
Typically, these special powers are offered towards the end of the show by which time characters are somewhat established and these powers can be used strategically. So it was odd to see her walk in with one.. This to me was one of the first psychological twists. Gau was brought in to give some indirect counsel and feedback that could help each person to up their game if they catch those hints.. She did that brilliantly and with a lot of sophistication..

Guests and feedback:

Vikas: What he said to Shilpa was unacceptable but for some reason he continues to get away with it unlike say an Arshi or even a Hina's family references that for some reason get more heat. It was downright cheap shot.. Just when he seemed to be cruising, he crashes.. But he will get away with it - again!!

Interestingly, people call Shilpa a flipper, but it is Vikas who has flipped the most.. He accused Hina of forgiving Arshi as soon as Priyank left, but he did the same just the day after and was seen getting close to Arshi who influenced his captain-ship majorly.. He has been flip flopping with Shilpa, Sapna and Hina every other day..One day he is bitching about the BAAP gang and next day he is doing heart to heart with them about others.. But he is smart about it and will go far!

Arshi, Bandagi, Puneesh: Arshi thought she was being cute with Gau who handled her beautifully like butter. Bandagi and Pueesh - the segment was edited from what we saw in the promos, but she made the point of them doing nothing outside of their fake romance..

Hina: I think Gau gave her some good pointers.. Not sure if Hina was really interrupting as much as was shown in the edits (which did not look good), or if she heard her out properly. Hina seems a bit more calm and settled instead of an enthu cutlet in the WKW.. Hoping we will see more of her chilled out version from here on.. Other than that, I think she handled herself well..

Akash - I think he is really a self absorbed idiot..I tend to agree with Shilpa to some degree that his heart is probably not as bad but he is an idiot who will get played by different people for their own interests..It was funny that Gau had to convince him to convince her .. It was quite clear that the shield was sent for him as he will very likely get nominated soon.. This to me is another mind game in play here.. Giving him the shield which is certainly not going to go down well with others but will give him some confidence to avoid him going all pyscho again.

Rankings
I felt this task had an indirect message.. The task was to rank people based on the buzz they are creating outside.. So,the ranking Salman put them on was correct..Right or wrong, these people are creating the most content. .I felt it was ruse to give others a reality check and incite them to start doing something as well.

It was interesting to see how their thought process worksin these ranking tasks.. Akash is happy to just go and take No.1 slot.. Vikas,Hina and Hiten never push their own cause on these things and seem quite secure.. Good for them..

I may be reading too much into it but, Salman commenting on Hina that 'dekho kitni bulandi pe pahunch gayi hai' sounded somewhat sarcy.. . She would be wise to not let it get into her head..

All others - not worth a mention..

PS: There seems to be an interesting though quiet alliance forming between Mez and Arshi since the jungle task.. Would be worth keeping an eye on that..

Also Salman finally took Sapnas class. That was long due. Der aaye durust aaye.

Mez is anyway warming up to not just arshi but even Pooja. She was seen encouraging pooja in tug of war. So either she is really that nice (supporting underdog) or she is beginning to drift towards the BAAP group. She even got insights from Gauhar. Let's see if padosis will come out of Hina's Chhatra-chhaya

You are so correct over Vikas. Why is he not taken to task for being abusive every now and then? Shilpa was not giving him footage so he went to her, riled her up with sweet talks and all the ensuing Tamasha. He is the most scared of the lot when it comes to "personal topics". The way he was convincing Sapna to not go after Arshi pune goa thing. He knows once Sapna opens the Pandora box, noone will be spared. That's why he is so friendly with Arshi. Its like u scratch my back and i will scratch yours

1. The whole Sapna thing is a bit overblown.. I feel she is almost disrespecting a golden opportunity that has been given.. She should leave soon as empty threats and screaming do not work..

2. Vikas has been preaching to Hina and others on not downgrading themselves but anytime he has been cornered he comes out with the most crassest of things.. What he said to Shilpa was waaay below the belt.. The first week when Hina and Priyank were out of line - I feel it was mostly because of Vikas fueling it.. But he is super smart and covers his tracks well.. Which is why I feel he will def .be in top 5..

Seeing the current flow - am becoming convinced that Shilpa will take the crown this time,, She is almost on the same track as Urvashi - only more chatpata. ..

but hina nad vikas..vikas ka problem is not talking to arshi...he said and made it clear ki arshi asked hina for apology oehle bhi when pri was there but she didnt accept but as soon as priyank was out she patched up...this was his point...

Agreed but keep in mind the situation, context and state of mind.. Someone saying sorry while you are still smarting, you are unlikely forgive as opposed to and someone saying it after some feedback and dressing down from Salman - two different situations.. Keeping the background that both the girls saw Salman take Zubair ki class, share some feedback and how bad it is coming out for all - you are more prone to saying mitti pau and aage badho.. But Vikas is a smart fox - so I feel he used the situation to convenience..

I write here what is not overtly obvious but the underlying and at times missed fine print :)
