Dandayudapani is Lord murugan as he stands in payani. He stands there with just a staff or a stick or Danda in his hand.

And ya Dandapani is the same.

Today's episode Parvati gives the staff to vinayagar and tells him he will also be known as Dandapani. The one who holds the staff.

Down south in payani or pazyani stands karthikya wearing just a loin cloth and holding a staff or wooden stick.

He is called as Dandapani or Dandayudapani.

It's a very special Temple.

Shiva and Parvati come on search of the Lord after he goes away angry that the mango is given to Ganesha.

This is the place he comes to.

The idol itself is amazingly made.

It is made by saint Bhogar using 9 poisons or navapashanam.

Artistic changes to stories is fine. But changing the name of the Lord himself.

South stories are always kichdified by utti.

If they show kanyakumari wonder how utti will present it this time.

He already made a mess once.

Oh Sorry !!! I didn't watch the first half of the episode .

Yes I'm from Tamil Nadu & I'm very much aware of that name .

My uncle's name is Dhandapani & he's named after Lord Murugan .

Sorry I didn't know it was referred to Vinayaka in the show 😕 That too this is happening when Murugan is already there in the serial ?!?!? 😕

Agree with you. Even I was aware of Murugan, I prefer to call him Kartikeya is Dandapani. My elders told me so and I also read the same. I don't know if Vinayak also got that name. Never heard or read. To me Kumar Kartikeya is Dandapani... I wish some day I will be able to visit the temple in future.

this is the story is lord Dandpani of Kashi who is actually is devotee of lord shiva... and lord shiva named him as dandpani of kashi and also make him guardian.. read

actually in north and west side there are some temples of lord dandpani... some temple referred lord ganesha as lord dandpani, some lord kartikeya as lord dandpani, some yama and some others.. and yeh sab kisi na kisi book me likha hai and this story is taken from the upnishad.. in above link kashi ki story hai sanskrit and hindi dono me.. I will share more stories related to it... but yup mostly people consider and worship lord kartikeya as lord dandpani but there are several more stories also
