I just saw Arjun's (Vijay) instagram story, and he was wearing white in it and so was Pranav. Also he was sitting on a white mattress/comforter on the ground. My inference is that someone might have died in the show. I could be wrong though.

Since I don't know Indian celebrations, is there an upcoming one that would require them to wear white or is that only reserved for when someone dies?

The only celebration where one would wear all white is holi and that happens in March. Also when someone dies the typical scene in Indian soaps is people wearing white and sitting on white mattresses while mourning.
