I think many of the movie roles Sanjay Kapoor did in his youth were OTT...he was acting at a time where overemotional nonsense was trending..and I don't think he fit those types of roles.
Some actors bloom later in life...when they are a bit older and can do certain types of roles
The character of Anant Mathur has this understated mature sexy man vibe...and i think its allowed Sanjay to find his niche...he portrays this role well cause its closer to his age and there are no theatrics...he is playing the role of a relatable guy, who loves his kids and is quietly looking for love.
It remains to be seen how he acts out more emotional scenes..esp when he find out Ahana is cheating on him
There seems to be a darker side to Anant, which the viewers have yet to see...
