history as one of the most romantic movies
of the 21st century, it is Imtiaz Ali's Jab We
Met. From Ratlam's galiyan to sarson ke khet,
the movie starring Shahid Kapoor and
Kareena Kapoor Khan traced the
adventurous journey of Geet Dhillon and
Aditya Kashyap. As unbelievable as it sounds,
Jab We Met today completes 10 years.
Given that Jab We Met has been one of the
most career-defining roles for Shahid,
PINKVILLA got in touch with the handsome
actor.
When we asked him regarding his best
memory from the film, Shahid said, "Jab We
Met in itself is one my best memories. It was
a special film. Shooting in the interiors of the
country with literally no planning was the
best part. Even the music used to come
literally one day before. So it was mad but
very exciting."
Imtiaz in an interview with PINKVILLA
reiterated that Shahid was more confident
about the movie than anybody else. When
we asked Shahid, what made him so
confident and was he happy with the
response the film garnered, the actor said,
"The minute I heard the script I felt very
strongly that it's a special film. And the day I
started working under Imtiaz as a director I
knew he is a special filmmaker. I think the
film has done way beyond what we all
imagined. It has become a part of the
audience in a way that is very rare. We were
all lucky to be a part of it and it will always
be a very cherished memory."
On being asked if he thinks Aditya and Geet
can be recreated, Shahid smiled and replied,
"Some things are best left untouched."
Shahid will next be seen as Maha Rawal
Ratan Singh in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's
Padmavati. The movie is slated to release on
December 1, 2017.
