@Dragon & Sudha:
RKB was always a divorcee. That is how he was introduced. He didn't have a Baby Momma, Shagun was his ex-wife, who ditched him for his boss. A gold digger and a selfish woman. She's not totally awful but you can hate her if you wish! Raman has no romantic feelings for her, he is just friends with her for their kids. I don't watch now, but I am sure their relationship is of good friends only. No guilt like Neil seems to have for Choohi.
Here it's a different thing. Juhi is an Ex GF, not wife, and they seem to have dated for less than 1 year if that. Then she dies and suddenly she comes back after 5 years and turns out she has a kid too. This premise is different, as in, it shows Neil in an unflattering light to have been about to leave the country and indulging in unprotected sex with GF. What was he, 22, 23? He seemed so excited about his impending departure it didn't seem like knocking up Juhi was high on the priority list. She proposed to him and not the other way around. My question is, would Tillu have been so casual if they were doing the dirty? đIt doesn't go with his personality that we have come to know.
By no means can something this big be treated in a blase way. We all know having kids is a huge responsibility. That is why you choose to do so when you are in a position of strength in your life, in a committed relationship preferably marriage (In eastern society this is a norm) and even in western society most people don't have kids till they are married or have a long-term partner. Even here these "knocked up" scenarios are not looked on positively. So don't see how in a country like India it will be? If people don't like the idea of Neil being a Baby Daddy then it is totally justified. It's not about being conservative, but about having standards.
"Nayi Soch" does not and should not equate to turning our backs on our "Core Values" which is what makes us who we are, and forms a part of our identity or Wajood as you say in India.
