The first episode of any show is important because it sets the tone of the story and viewers judge from there whether they will be able to connect with the show and characters or not. And EDT did just that.
As Vyom ran up the mandir steps in the very first scene with dramatic music in the background, you knew that he was in extreme pain. He didn't ASK God, but he commanded him to cure his Sharanya. The woman whom he loved and who had been in a coma for the past two years. The woman who had made him believe in God and bow his head before. As Vyom gathered up glowing coal in his hands, he begged God not to ignore his prayers otherwise he would burn the world.
At the same time, we saw Sharanya, lying in hospital with her organs failing and the Dr telling her distraught family there was nothing more they could do.
And just as the Dr is about to switch off her life support, a window mysteriously blew open in the hospital and to Vyoms horror, the fire in his hands extinguished.
Vyom rushed back to the hospital completely broken fearing the worst, but he saw, to his surprise that Sharanya was awake. As he walked towards her slightly shocked, Sharanya's delighted family credited him for their daughter's miraculous recovery. Sharanya listening to everything being told to her, walked slowly towards Vyom, a blank stare filling her face before she collapsed in his arms. Did she even remember him?
Later on that night as a mysterious bouquet was delivered to Vyom, he saw a dazed Sharanya, walking towards the edge of the roof. He frantically ran towards her and saved her just as we see a ghostly figure slowly taking shape staring at the two lovers embracing...and we begin to suspect that all is not what is seems.
Today's episode was an introduction of Vyom. A man so deeply in love that he would fight the world to keep her safe. A man loved by a rich father who appeared to adore his son and would do anything for him. And a mother who showed signs of hatred towards the woman her son loved.
In contrast we had Sharanya's parents and brother who were a simple, loving family, who adored Vyom as much as they did their daughter.
And in the middle of it all, we have an unknown ghostly figure. Was he the cause of Sharanya's recovery or was it Vyoms prayers and pleading to God.
A lot of questions arose in the very first episode hooking the viewers and making us look forward to having the answers unravelled before us. Is the mysterious figure good or evil? How far is Vyom willing to go if his love is threatened?
Vikram Singh Chauhan was great as Vyom and Donal looked really pretty. Today hopefully we will get more answers and a little bit more insight to the ghost. Looking forward to seeing Namik's portrayal.
An entertaining start.
