Here I am back with the next part of this fiction...hope you all like it and forgive me for being so late😊

Part 3

She went to the market to buy a gift wrapping paper along with some stationary items including chart paper, colours etc. This time of the year it had started to rain in Ahmedabad and while she was coming back home it started to rain again. She managed to cover up the stationery items in polybag but she herself got completely drenched when she reached home. As she entered inside...achhhu...she sneezed and everyone saw her completely wet.

Chachi: arey Naina tu kahan gayi thi is baarish ke mausam me...ab dekh poori bheeg gayi hai...

Naina: kahin nahi Chachiji...wo school ka kuch stationary ka samaan lena tha...wo hi lene gayi thi aur wapas aate huye baarish shuru ho gayi

Chachi: theek hai ab jaldi se andar ja aur kapde badal le...warna bukhaar ho jayega...pata hai na tujhe... Bheegne ke baad kitni jaldi beemar padti hai tu...Preeti jai se andar lekar ja...

Naina kept on sneezing and went inside with Preeti and changed her clothes and dried her hair. Chachi gave her ginger tea along with medicine for cold. At night when everyone went off to sleep she sat on her study table and started making a card for Sameer. She decided to write a sorry message on the card and after she made the card and packed her gift, went off to sleep. Next morning Chachi came to wake her up for school and noticed that she had fever. She had headache when she woke up and Chachi asked her to miss her school today. But she couldn't miss her school as it was Sameer's birthday and she had to attend the party in school. Also apart from the party, the main reason was that she had to give him his gift and see his expressions on seeing that gift.

She told Chachiji that she will take medicine and go to school as she had a test today in school and couldn't miss it. She got ready and went to school with Preeti and was desperately waiting for Sameer to come to the class. When Sameer entered the class, he was surrounded by his group of friends who were wishing him on his birthday and asking the others also to wish him. Everyone in the class wished him and when Naina went to him to wish...he gave her a glance and moved forward without responding to her wish and she stood still feeling so depressed with his behaviour. How can someone behave like this on his birthday? She thought and after few seconds went back to her seat. Her eyes were moist and Swati noticed it and asked her whether she was crying. She told her that it was because she was having cold and fever and hide her tears from Swati.

During the lunch break Sameer invited everyone for the lunch party in the canteen and Munna asked him whether he wanted Naina also to be there? He told him that although he didn't want her to be there, but as she too belonged to the class he won't stop her from coming as he had invited everyone. Naina didn't want to go to the canteen but Swati insisted on going and she had to agree. Both of them went to the canteen where his friends had arranged a cake cutting ceremony and he ordered snacks and cold drinks for everyone from the canteen itself.. everyone was enjoying the party and Naina was waiting for a moment where she could give him the gift she got but he was so busy with his friends that she could not gather the courage to go to him and give him the present. After the cake cutting was over, she quietly placed her gift and the card beside the card and waited for the lunch break to end. He will definitely see the gift before leaving the canteen...she thought.

When the bells rang and the lunch break was over, everyone wished and thanked him again and went back to the class. Munna and Pandit saw the left over cake and a gift kept there. On seeing the gift, Sameer recollected Naina coming there and placing something but that time he didn't pay much attention to what she had kept. He told that definitely this gift is kept by Naina only.

Sameer: yeh Naina bhi na...kitni ajeeb ladki hai...pehle punishment dilwati hai aur ab gift lekar aati hai...mujhe usse koi gift nahi chahiye...ise yahin chhod do aur class mein chalo...

Naina was standing behind the door and seeing all this...she felt as if her world ended today when he asked his friends to leave it there only. He didn't even bother to open it and see what was there inside...how can he be so rude? How can someone not see what gift he got on his birthday? When me or Preeti get something...we immediately open it and see whats there inside...but Sameer...he didn't even...she started crying and went away from there. She didn't go to her class rather she went to an isolated place and sat there crying. She could not reconcile herself and felt so embarrassed with his behaviour. Sameer and his friends came to the class and he was surprised to see her empty seat. Swati was worried for Naina...she had told her that she wanted to have water but she hasn't come back till now. She asked Sameer whether he had seen Naina and told them that she hasn't come back. On his denial of seeing Naina after the lunch break, Swati went to search for her and found her crying in isolation.On asking the reason for her crying, Naina told her that she was having severe headache and that she wanted to go back home. Swati took her to Rakesh Sir and with his help, she got the permission to go back home early and Naina went back home.

In the classroom Sameer was not comfortable. Inside his heart somewhere he was feeling bad that he had left her gift just like that. Although he was angry with her, but still she had brought a present for him which no one else did and he behaved so rudely with her on his birthday. He didn't see her also after the break and wanted to ask Swati about Naina but could not. What would his friends think...they'll make fun of him if he went to her and asked about Naina...but he was worried for her as everyone knew Naina isn't a girl who would leave the class like this...something was not right with her.

At home Chachiji gave her medicine along with a light lunch and asked her to take rest. She told Naina that she is not going to school till she is absolutely fine and Naina agreed to her decision. As it is now she didn't want to go to school for few days as she didn't want to face him...the way he had insulted her in front of his friends...she was feeling very embarrassed. She did as her Chachi asked her to and with tears in her eyes she went to her room to take rest.

After the school was over, Sameer quickly went to the canteen and picked up Naina's gift which was still lying there. He picked it up and put it in his bag and went back to his friends to leave for home. He asked them to come to his home in the evening for the party organised by his Nanu for all of them and they happily agreed. While going back on his bike, his mind drifted into Naina's thoughts...the way she got him punished... then she helped his Nanu...he still behaved rudely with her so many times...even on his birthday she got a present for him but he... he was engrossed in these thoughts when he didn't notice a small child suddenly came in front of his bike and in order to save him, he quickly applied the brakes. The bike slipped and fell down on the road along with the bike. Luckily the child was saved and he too got just minor abrasions. He saw his bike which was much damaged due to the impact of skidding and he got up and took his bike back home.

At home Nanu saw his clothes soiled and he was slightly limping. On asking he narrated the entire incident and Nanu was satisfied that he himself didn't sustain any major injuries and it was definitely the impact of someone's true blessings and prayers that he was saved in this accident. He did the dressing to abrasions and asked him to take some rest as he had to enjoy the party in the evening.

While lying down on the bed, the thought of her gift suddenly came to his mind. He picked up his bag and took out her gift. He opened it and saw a small Ganpati ji...he touched it to his forehead and kept them on the side table and started reading the card. She had written a long message inside which said...

I am sorry Sameer...meri wajah se tumhe bahut daant padi...but main nahi jaanti ki kyun tumne un ladkon se jhagda kiya tha...par jo maine dekha tha wohi maine Sir ko bataya...par tum is wajah se mujhse bahut naraz ho...tumne itni baar meri madad kit hi aur main... Sameer main bas tum se sorry kehna chahti hu aur tumhare liye maine apni sabse pyari cheez gift me di hai...Yeh Ganpati ji meri Mummy ke hain...unhe wo bahut maanti thi aur unhone yeh mere liye diye the...jaane se pehle. Ganpati Ji ne meri humesha help ki hai...aur ab main tumhe de rahi hu...wo tumhari bhi humesha raksha karenge aur tum apni life mein bahut aage bado...yehi main pray karti hu. Happy Birthday Sameer...ho sake to mujhe maaf kar do...'

Sameer felt the earth slip beneath his feet...he was cursing Naina throughout and she had given her most precious possession to him as his birthday present... her Mom's only memory with her which she had...and what he did to her? he felt so guilty and so small in front of her and wanted to meet her immediately but he couldn't gather strength to face her. Nanu came to his room and saw him upset... On asking he told him about his behaviour towards Naina and showed him the gift she gave him. Nanu saw it and told him that it was mainly because of Naina and Ganpati Ji's blessings that he was saved during the accident. He has been unusual in his behaviour towards her and that he should apologise to her for his behaviour. He agreed to do so as he himself was feeling very guilty for his behaviour. He had a small get together party at his home organised by his Nanu for his friends...he enjoyed the party but inside his heart he was desperately waiting for the next day so that he could say sorry to her.

I loved the part where Naina is shattered to see him not even looking at her gift ! Though it was a sad moment, it was too deep to see her stopping herself not to reach him and tell him, but forcing herself to wait. Such a lovely scene, i read it twice with almost moist eyes.

Heart wrenching, i wish one day Sameer comes to know this, and comes to a point what he feels for her and comes to know her feeling !

In love with your story Manisha di ❤️ I get a pure feeling of Naina and Sameer together in heart, though things are yet to be known to both of them !
