Jackky in Hindi remake of Telugu film

Actor Jackky Bhagnani will be seen in a Hindi remake of Telugu film "Pelli Choopulu", and it will be set in Gujarat.

Actor Jackky Bhagnani will be seen in a Hindi remake of Telugu film "Pelli Choopulu", and it will be set in Gujarat.

The yet untitled romantic comedy drama will be directed by Nitin Kakkar and produced by Phantom Films.

"I've made some changes in the original script so that the Hindi film audience can connect with it," Kakkar said in a statement.

Jackky has been shooting in Ahmedabad for the project. Interestingly, he has played a Gujarati before in Ashish Mohan's "Welcome 2 Karachi".

The original "Pelli Choopulu" featured Vijay Deverakonda and Ritu Varma, and had bagged two National Film Awards.

It begins with the "pellichoopulu" or arranged meeting between Prashanth (played by Vijay Deverakonda) and Chitra (Ritu Varma). Fed up of his care-a-damn son, the boy's father believes marriage will make him a more responsible man. Chitra turns out to be an ambitious girl and meeting her changes Prashanth's life for the better.

The only way they could make this worse is to cast Alia in Ritu Varma's role.

The one Telugu movie I liked in the recent past and they do this. Will probably vanish without making an impact.

This should have been done by someone like the director of 2 States.

Have watched Fidaa. Don't expect a masterpiece but it's entertaining and features a spunky performance by Sai Pallavi who was the star of the film.

Yet to watch Arjun Reddy but it's on my list.

I found it so funny how some people in the YT comments thread were talking about how movies like Arjun Reddy are a threat to our 'culture'. 🤢 Lol so item numbers where women are compared to pachchadi (pickle) and bhel puri are okay but these movies spoil our culture.

Whattey double standards.

Pellichoopulu, Fidaa, Ninnu Kori, Krishnagadi Veera Prema Gadha - these are the movies I have watched recently...Donno when they were released though...but my love for Telugu movies came back because of these 4 movies!
