Ayesha (Hyderbadi, Indian girl) Shoaib Malik (Pak cricket captain)

Shoaib Malik denies marrying any girl in India

Updated at : Tuesday, February 05, 2008

LAHORE: Pakistan cricket team captain Shoaib Malik said that he is not related with the scandal spreading about his marriage with an Indian girl named Ayesha and he would file suit in this regard.

In a press conference along with his brother-in-law Imran Zafar in Lahore, he said that news published in media these days regarding his marriage is baseless and he does not relate with this.

Malik said that this is his personal and family matter and he would not talk further in this regard but his brother-in-law would tackle this issue.

Imran Zafar, brother-in-law of Shoaib Malik, said that this was merely an internet love affair, which started in 2001.

He told media that the girl with whom Shoaib Malik was chatting was mailing the picture of another girl to Malik and he committed with the girl shown in the picture.

Imran said that the pictures of the girl are with Malik but he does not want to play with her honour.

He said that this marriage scandal is a fraud as no nikah or rukhsati took place and the parents of Aysha are dishonouring the religion.

He said that the girl's parents had invited the entire Pakistan cricket team at dinner in 2005 but they did not show the girl on the insistence of Inzamam-ul-Haq nor they arranged any meeting with her despite his efforts. This reveals that it was all fraud and the matter was ended in 2005 after the truth was known.

The girl's family has blamed Malik for everything here...Poor Malik, as i believe him hands down here!!!! That's Ayesha, in the pic, the girl who sent pics of someone else pretending to be her, and now claiming that he has been married to her! ..and then Malik had also met this girl in Sharjah..but now that u think about it, it couldn't have been the actual girl as seen in the pic above, like Malik stated, it was always another girl, whom he fell in love with...

so basically "that" other girl and this girl, Ayesha, fooled around with Malik, while Malik fell in love with the one of them (not Ayesha, who claims to be married to him) ..and it always seemed as if the girl who he met and whose pics he saw, was the actual girl..but most probably Ayesha, the girl in the pic, wanted to marry Shoaib and this whole drama started with her as the one talking to Malik all the time...and using the other girl's pics, stating that its her! !!!!!...

But, i believe Malik all the way..he shud file a case against them as he has said that he isnt married since the past 2 yrs, and now these ppl wake up and state all of this !!!!!😕 😕 😕 .. He has stated this eevr since his father passed away, 2 yrs back!!!

They're just after Malik's money, its pretty obvious...and Malik deserves sumone better, not sumone who just played around.

And not to be mean, but that pic says everything, Malik did see sumone else's pics!

She deserved it for playing with Shoaib's emotions! Shoaib is an honest dude!

Exactly...And considering how conservative the girl's parents are likely to be in the Indian sub-continent, why would they make such a mockery of themselves...😕..Also, the girl's family isn't asking for Malik to take the girl in, all they were asking is for him to give her 'talaaq'... And why is it that everyone believing Shoaib but not the girl's side of the story??Do any of us know any of the parties personally, for us to be able to judge and take sides???All this just doesn't make any sense anymore...😆

raksha..don't u think by now they wud have showed any proves of thier marriage to the media.. he was in india last year.. why didn't they ask him at that time..or why didn't they go to thier media..why now?. If they want divorce then why don't they take this matter into the court ..Why going to the media to make it such a big issue.. ayesha's family are dying to get fame..and i think they have got enough of it by now..I don't know why indian media loves to mock pakistani players... this has happened in the past..and unfortunelty it will always continue..

Alleged marriage never happened, Malik says

KARACHI, February 5: A love affair between Pakistan's cricket captain and an Indian girl has turned sour with Shoaib Malik accusing her Muslim family of trying to commit an internet marriage fraud with him.

Malik has been at the centre of a row with the Indian family based in Hyderabad, who claim that he exchanged marriage vows with their daughter Ayesha in 2002 over the telephone and has now deserted her.

Malik and his brother-in-law Imran told a news conference in Lahore on Tuesday that Malik had fallen in love with a girl over the internet and on the phone. "I was interested in marrying her after she told me she belonged to an Indian Muslim family in Hyderabad and sent me her pictures," Malik said.

Imran said, however, that they came to realise in 2005 that the girl in the photograph was not the daughter of the Indian family, the Siddiquis, whose daughter had in fact duped Malik on the internet into believing she was the girl in the picture.

"The girl in the picture never came before us for years and we ended the relationship in 2005 after we came to know something was wrong. No marriage was ever solemnized. We are now planning to go to India and file a case for defamation against this family," Imran said.👏👏👏

However, M.A. Siddiqui alleges that the Pakistani cricketer had exchanged marriage vows with his daughter on June 3, 2002 and says he has proof of it. He has threatened to move the court to get justice and a divorce for his daughter, who he says has been ill since Malik denied his relationship with her.

Some school of thought of the Islamic Shariah laws recognise the exchange of marriage vows over the telephone. Malik said he just wanted to concentrate on his cricket career. "I will not speak on this issue any more. After they tried to dupe us we decided to keep quiet about it because of the girl whose photograph they showed me. But now they are trying to exploit my standing as an international cricketer," Malik added.

The relationship between Malik and Ayesha was reported widely in the Indian and Pakistani press over the last few years because of the stormy political ties between the two countries. A Pakistani cricketer falling in love with an Indian girl made headline news. The girl's father had also hosted a big reception for the Pakistan team at his residence in Hyderabad when they toured in 2005 but the girl was said to be in United States then with her grandmother.
