Shot 1- Assembling The Pieces
The three of them entered from the different directions calling out to their Daadi. While the old woman had a smile with the the hue of sadness, the three looked at each other.
Shades of Pain, regret, anger, and ego switched reflecting on their face, but their hearts had just love. The love they had built in years, with love, care, respect, trust. The love they had decorated with their Obro-Moments and The Emotional to Awkward Hugs. The love, the bond that developed with their small fights with each other to the bigger ones against the troubles. The love that read words less and pains more. The love that spoke through eyes more than the lips. The love that was the medicine to all hurts and adversities. But, when time had changed everything, they failed to realise. Things fell out and they kept staring. The things they had made delicately over years had changed with one, just one day!
That one UGLY TRUTH, About Their FAMILY. Their principles which made them what they were, were now the reason of the distances between their hearts.
Terribly in pain the brothers diverted their gaze towards Daadi when she called them,called the three of them with one name, "ShivOmRu". They curved their lips to a small smile as they reached her, the three bent down together as they always used to and touched her feet. Smiling each one of them stepped ahead to hug her, individually. Daadi frowned switching her gaze to the three of them. They looked at each other, sighing and looking away.
" Khotyon, gussa thuk do. Itne saal baad saath aaye ho, aur yeh... iss budi aaurat ko aur kitna intezaar karaoge. Main chali..."
"Daadi!" The three scolded in her unison. Looking at each other, they placed their hands on each other and pulled Daadi into a group hug.
Breaking apart in tears Daadi looked at the three of them. "Kaise ho...aur meri bahuein kahan hai?" She said looking behind them.
"Wo Main Pune se aa raha hoon, Gauri bas aati hi hogi" Omkara smiled.
Rudra smiled at the mention of his favorite women.
The two men looked at
Shivaay along with Daadi, as he looked away.
"Aa rahi hogi..." He said aside twitching up an eyebrow in stress remembering the argument he had had with his wife the previous night.
The curves on his forehead did not go unnoticed by OmRu who out of habit looked at each other, and soon the causal look became painful. Rudra turned away, fisting his fingers he looked away. Shivaay turned back to look at them, he felt the tension as well, clearing his throat he turned to Daadi while Omkara simply folded his hands, wondering about his brother and his wife.
"Daadi, Prinku Khana hain?" Shivaay asked looking around.
"Arey abhi abhi terrace pe gayi hai. WO.."
"WO kyun gayi, kissi staff ko bhej deti..!" Argued Shivaay.
"Arey wo upar waale storeroom se diwali ki saamigri lane gayi hai, bol rahi thii poore garh ko khud sajjayegi, " she smiled. Awkwardly she stared at the silent brothers, while Shivaay looked around noticing the changes, Omkara looked up at the ceiling - nothing had changed yet everything seemed so different, and Rudra stared at the tiles and the furniture.
Daadi folded her hands, "Tum teeno aise kya dehk rahe hi tumhaara hi garh hai! Ab khade hi rahoge yaan baith ke baate bhi karige mujhse?" She sat looking at them.
"Thaa.." whispered Omkara audible enough to the ears in the room.
Shivaay gulped hard, looking at Omkara and clenched his jaw as he saw those drops of pain appear back into Daadi's eyes.
"Kaunsi batein Daadi, kuch logon ko sirf ladna aata hai...ab baatein kaise hongi unse" spoke Rudra looking painfully at his brothers.
"Rudra! " screamed Shivaay.
"Bas phir nahi! Puraane zakhm ko yaad karke dukh hi hota hai!" shook her voice in despair.
Suddenly the killing silence of the mansion was broken by high pitched screams. The four turned towards the door.
"Bhaag... Jaldi bhaag!"
"Bhaabhi!" exclaimed OmRu in unison.
"Anika!" exclaimed a terrified Shivaay.
A small figure came running in through the gate, and OmRu had hearty eyes looking at their young nephew.
"Ansh!" Shivaay called his little one's name wondering why he was running wildly and where tge hell was his wife!
"Papa, Run!" Spoke little Ansh scurrying past behind the sofa. Daadi smiled at him in aww.
He was followed by his sprinting mother, while others stared wide eyed at her hilariously fearful and animates screams.
"What happened Anika? " asked Shivaay seeing his wife run inside to the left.
"Kutta!" she exclaimed. "Bhaagiye!"
OmRu and Daadi stared wide eyed as they saw Shivaay juggling conversation between his wife and child.
"Ansh no running!" He looked at him in the eye.
"No NO...Anshu Bhaag!" She frowned at her husband still jogging.
Shivaay jogged over to the left side of the hall, "stop Anika are you mad, Bhaag kyun rahi ho and what kutta, its dog..D.O.G=Dog.!"
Behind her in came a dog, and she picked up her speed and screamed.
OmRu quickly got to the little one and picked him up while Anika ran around the huge living hall with the dog behind her and Shivaay behind trying to catch up with his wife."Tommy relax!"
"O SSO mera naam Anika hai! " She screamed as she ran past Daadi.
"Tum se nahi dog se baat kar raha hoon!" Screeched Shivaay irritated.
Soon Khaana joined the trail trying to catch Tommy. As he ran parallel to Shivaay he got screwed for leaving Tommy free.
While Daadis and OmRu's laugh wouldn't stop. Rudra laughed hugging Omkara who was holding Ansh and laughing. Ansh joined them giggling and clapping as though watching a circus.
OmRu lookes at him adoringly.
"Beta Tu naya hai yeh yahan pe hota rehta hai!" Chortled Rudra, tapping Omkara and who gave him a high five.
Soon Khanna caught up with Tommy and Shivaay with Anika.
"Are you mad!? Shivaay panted setting his hair.
"Arey wo mere aur Anshu ke peeche aise pad gaya matlab...
"..Ansh...No. Anshu!" Shivaay tried correcting her as usual while OmRu shared smirks.
"Anshu...
"Ansh
"Anshu
"Ansh!
Abruptly the tension came back as OmRu looked at each other. Promptly Daadi called out to Anika to stop the Billu-Billi argument.
Anika quickly hugged Daadi and taking Ansh from Omkara's hold put him down, instructing him in actions and little words to go touch Daadi's feet.
The boy grinned and shyly hugged his mother hiding his face. Rudra immediately called the boy, making faces, and demonstrated by touching Daadi's feet. The little boy looked up at Anika who nodded in a yes and slowly sauntered towards the old lady whose eyes shone as she looked at the kanji eyed small boy.
Meanwhile Anika turned to Omkara and gave him a side hug who smiles back, while Shivaay folded his hands focusing on the little boy but occassionally glancing aside at them. Anika looked at her husband disappointed but did not want to spoil the little moment the so called Tommy - Khanna's new pet had made deapite the fact that her heart was almost out when he chased her down.
While Ansh was happily playing with Daadi's bangle. Omkara and Rudra had been with Ansh before. Anika made sure he spent time with each of the family member's. So none of the family members were alien to Ansh who was just like his mother, gelling well with all. But he didi take time to get accustomed to them.
Rudra walked up to Anika and hugged her, nit choosing to look at his brothers. Anika teased him about his missing abs and he grinned.
"Suna hai parathe zyda khaa rahe ho!" She aimpered winking at him.
"Bhaabhi!" Smiled Rudra shyly yet adoringly.
The small, exchange dint go unnoticed by Om and Shivaay. Rudra and parathas, interesting!
"Daadi, Sab Kahan Hain?" asked Anika looking around.
"Om, Gauri? "
Before Om could reply, in came tge reply from the entrance.
"Hum yahan hai Bhaujaai!" came a cheerful Gauri's voice who followed the luggage trolley dragged by the staff on an segway.
The jaws of the Oberois dropped, the daughter in laws of the house were too eventful!
"O bete ki "exclaimed Anika as she saw her while Ansh mirrored her reaction gaping at it like others.
"Arey wah Gauri Standing cycle!"
Shivaay hit his head in irritation.
"Bhaabhi usse segway kehte hain!" Corrected Omkara.
Gauri stopped between them and smiled excitedly. "Woh bhi electric waali standing cycle, yeh apne aap chalti hai hum bas khade ho gaye!" Exclaimed Gauri in a hyper tone giving her an high-five.
"Sambhale ke " warned Omkara as he saw his wife wobble.
He helped her get of it and she quickly ran towards Daadi taking her blessings and hugging her. Then turned to Shivaay who greeted her with equal warmth. While Rudra and Anika busily admired the new found attraction-the segway.
Omkara held on to Ansh who was making his way to the segway as excitedly as the other two Oberois.
Shivaay hugged Gauri smiling at her. " so good to see you!"
"So good to see you, too. Bade Bhaiya!" She calmly and clearly spelled out each word keeping the accent just right. He amile at her proudly.
"Ahaan! Impressive!" He simpered.
"As perfect as yours?" She asked flashing a smile.
"We could debate about that?" He winked. She laughed.
Omkara heard every word. But chose to keep his mixed feelings to him.
Gauri then turned to Rudra, who hugged her excitedly enquiring about her new adventure.
While Omkara tried pacifying the tiny Oberoi who now moved his hands furiously wanting to play with the segway as well. And soon cries filled the living hall.
Gauri quickly diverted her attention to the little fellow in her husband's arms.
"Ole ole...Ansh baby upset ho gaya Chaachi ne Ansh ko hello nahi bola" she spoke kissing the boys cheeks swaying him.
Daadi smiled her hope shinning a little clearer than before despite everything. For once, as the darkness grew outside, the house was illuminated with bright lights and as outside grew silence within the walls the music composed of voices of what once was a family started smoothly waiting to grow into the soulful song it once was.
