So this is a long post in the view of the Rikara confrontation scene.
I know there will be a Omkara vs Gauri fan wars too. But this is a analysis in my view and why I don't find him wrong although he deserves the slap and the silent treatment from Gauri after this because what he did today cannot be justified but I have a small theory why he did so.
So let's begin with Omkara and why I don't find him wrong.
In past 8 months sine the inception of Dbo we have been treated with the angry young man version of Omkara but what we fail to understand that along the 3 brothers Omkara's anger has always been lethal.Its a psychology fact that people who are deprived of love tend to resort to anger and so is the case with Om. The anger had always been there masked under the calm disposition but when he had to see his mother's self immolation attempt,it came out full fledged . So when om went to bareilly he wasn't in the right frame of mind and all the past events were subconsciously affecting him. There he meets Janvi thakurain ( cruel CVS) and sees her dying so automatically his mind accepts Janvi thakurain as his mom and kali as his dad ,so invariably the girl kali is getting married to becomes swetlana and this girl happens to be Gauri. And even when he attends those functions there Gauri acted in a way that reinforced this notion.Gauri was in trouble that we as audience knew but for Omkara she was another swetlana. Then they meet in train again and the jungle again. The reason I think he saved her there was maybe because Gauri saved him from that poison dart. She could have left him there and saved her skin but instead she choose to stay by his side and save him .So he too saved her by marrying her bit then he never wanted to marry so he left her there saying it was an act and here the chapter of a certain Gauri closed for him. Although subconsciously he had accepted that marriage and remembered her multiple times. The point is from here onwards we as viewers knew that Gauri and cb are same but not Omkara.
He again meets her when he goes to save chulbul as Kali's wife. Now technically according to him she was cheating on him,because somewhere he did validate that marriage and so now he becomes the janvi and she becomes the tej of their relationship and added to the fact was chulbul whom Omkara held so close to was hurt because of her. If not for her he didn't have any animosity with Gauri. That's the place where he misbehaves with her. To us viewers we feel wrong for Ri because we know the truth but for Omkara who doesn't Ri is the culprit in his life. And after this little shock he gets the greatest shock of life in the form of Chulbul being Gauri.
Now many found O leaving Ri with Kali very cruel and ungrateful but think from his point of view. Buamaa had manipulated the truth,O did give her a fair trail and then again for a man who sees world in black n white it would be very difficult to join the images of the girl he hates with the boy who was his closest confidant. Here he was hurt because he once again was betrayed.
A point here to be noted was he was slowly coming to terms with chulbul/Gauri duality that's the reason when Svetlana threatened him. Instead of bringing any random girl he brought Gauri because he somewhere subconsciously considered her his wife and also deep down trusted her,but consciously hated her so insulted her but he cared for her.
After the whole svety fiasco Ri was ready to leave and O understood that but she was stopped by shiv.
Now here again we see another phase of insults from O to Ri and we sympathize with her but we fail to understand that O had just been betrayed by the same girl and also he is a commitment phobic when he couldnt commit to a gf of 5 years he would surely feel suffocated by this forced relationship. But even then he cared*(bangle scene,fainting drama) and felt for her courtesy all the feelings he had for chulbul.
Just when he was softening we had Ri poking her nose in the buamaa matter and riling up O . Now it is a very painful past that O didn't want to touch upon but Ri insisted and so he retaliated. That's the last instant we see of him abusing her.
Then we had the surendar fiasco and finally O in coma with a Mu.
When he wakes up all he remembers is Ri and buamaa confrontation so he brings the police but then they are sent away coz Ri is pregnant
The point here to be noted is that he asks her take oath on Shankerji and then believes her blindly and takes care of her,when the whole truth comes out he didn't blame her for such a big lie but instead thanks her and says he wants to give this relation a chance.
At this point all the bareilly Mu had been hidden somewhere,and we see him slowly warming up to her but still in a limbo state because he is afraid to get hurt when committed.
Gauri leaving him provides the push and all the events there after were only in those direction but still not enough because now Gauri becomes cold.
Now this whole MU of Om highlights his insecurities. He loves her { I can fight anyone on this} but he fears the same fate as his mom so he is very guarded.
The only mistake he did was not to clear his earlier MU when he had time.His this MU has been in an inebriated state when he was missing her,was frustrated with his own self for not being able to find answers and was annoyed at gauri suddenly change in behaviour .
In today's episode Omkara has behave a jerk and even a die hard fan of him like me wouldn't be happy with him but as I said I have a reason why he did so. Gauri had raise his hopes of a selfless beautiful love that hr never thought he would get in his lifetime. The pure unadultered adoration Gauri had for him was something that he had craved for from his childhood and when he saw her attention being directed away from he then all hell broke lose. He did the same what he thought she did to him- raised her hopes and then thrashed them.
A point here to be noted is Om is the more vulnerable one in this relationship and in yesterday episode you can see his vulnerabilities. He was hurting Gauri but he himself was equally hurt.the place where he says " humara beech jo tha sab bhool gayi tum" he was constraining himself from crying *( A ROUND OF APPLAUSE FOR KUNAL. HE IS A GEM OF AN ACTOR). Part of his vulnerabilities aise from the fact that Gauri as Chulbul had come to know a lot about his real raw self but he has no idea about Gauri and he always fears betrayal because that's what he has been handed in most of his relationships.
I know many of you may disagree with me but when a see the larger picture I was expecting this kind of outburst and the red emotion that follows. Omkara fatal flaw is believing what he sees and his journey is to understand that it's not always what you see is the truth.
Omkara deserves a slapped but I also believe unlike some that he deserves as well as needs Gauri. He deserves her because when Omkara Singh Oberoi loves and trusts someone he does so with all of himself. The Chulkara friendship is a testament to the fact that had Rikara met in a normal situation then Om had surely fallen for her and would have had a beautiful relationship. Now when their relationship starts on a new slate Om will make sure he would do everything to make Gauri smile because that's how he is. Hes relationship with his brothers especially Rudra shows that how he pampers and takes care os people he loves. How he is ready to die and kill for people whom he holds close example being the way he goes to bareilly to being chulbul back.
And a pure soul like Gauri who went through so much deserves such kind of love and Omkara needs such kind of love to heal his bat tere soul which has been battered far too many times.
Oso is like Severus Snape of IB half the random will hate him , half of it will sympathize but everyone will agree that he is a complex character who you would take notice of and in the form Kunal we got a actor who would do 100% justice to the character.
I am hell lot excited for this track because I will get to see 100 shared of Oso and also Kunal
