Vivek Dahiya to pursue Oneirology!

By FPJ Web Desk | Oct 04, 2017 12:45 pm

Touted as television's ideal husband, Kavach actor Vivek Dahiya has an interesting goal to pursue soon one to study his dreams, the study called Oneirology.

The actor who won the title trophy of the dance reality show Nach Baliye with his actress wife Divyanka Tripathi this year plans to dedicate some time soon to take up this very interesting study.
Vivek shares, For years, I have had some of the most vivid and grand dreams. I have woken up feeling as if I have just seen a large scale film. I initially would forget them after a while and so I decided to keep a diary in which I write down all the points I can remember and then connect the dots to form the narrative. There are times when I can not remember every detail as well as we easily forget what we see during our sleep. Initially I did not know what these dreams meant but slowly as I started researching I found out about Onierology and I started reading about it and self teaching myself. However, there is so much to learn that I would love to take up a course on this, perhaps in my next break between shows.
The actor who also is a story teller says, "I would love to turn some of these into films or short films some day once I have learnt and understood them well. I guard the book in which I make a note of everything my mind sees while resting and hope to someday bring it to life to show to the world. Now that sounds quite exciting!

Interesting article. Specially the content. I think scientific "study of dreams" is for medical students/medical experts. Then there is some armature enthusiasts too. Like palmists, astrologer and that kind of stuffs. But can anyone do academical scientific study on dreams? And didn't get what he meant by "in my next break between shoes".
Its atypical content makes it interesting nevertheless.

I don't know if such an "academic course" does exist in particular! Oneirology is a branch of psychology, the medical science of behavior and mind. But it is strictly for medical students or cognitive scientists and is offered to them as one of the several courses for their postgraduate medical degree.g. MD, MCh etc. Vivek is from business background. And to interpret your vivid dreams, you go to a good psychologist, do not try to become one. It doesn't make sense.

Trivia: My mom is a practicing psychiatrist. She once watched YHM very closely as I was a very keen viewer of this show at one time. I am talking about the infamous Mani track. She told me Ishita was having an emotional affair with Mani, that's what the psychologists call it. I remember I made a topic about that and the whole forum went berserk after that...😆
