I think it has also to do with fact the male idols in her life were never really idols her Dad who is generally the first idol of how a life partner or husband should be was one who did not live upto the trust. He also betrayed her multiple times and last straw being getting her arrested. There was one Alladin who was killed but he was friend who was guided by her not whom she looked upto. And to top it she had been ridiculed humiliated insulted and her worth was degraded in childhood by many including her dad that she has low self worth. So yes these childhood scars will take awhile to heal and it will be slow process. Am glad CVS are being realistic and taking slow.

Her problem here I guess is not Neil, she has unshakable trust on Neil, she trusts him more than herself, she knows he will never hurt her or be unfair to her, sshe knows he will always be there for her, she knows he is no Ashish Mehta and that he is a very unique man. The problem is that she might think she is not worthy enough of him! Neil told her many times that she is strong, that she is good and that she is selfless.
