With all the world and its cousin working toward ShivIka ki shaadi... for god only knew which iteration this was... Omkara was a happy man. His brother and sister-in-law were finally getting married because they actually wanted to, this wedding wasn't about tadi or secret plans or revenge this time... his brother was happy, Anika was happy and so was he.
Things seemed to have stabilized for the most part between him and his little chiraiyya who was participating in everything she could with her typical sunny attitude and cheerful disposition. If he hadn't been observing her so closely while utilizing every opportunity to taadofy his own wife, Omkara might've never noticed the infrequent flashes of sadness that seemed to pass over Gauri's expressive face. Ever since they'd started to plan Shivaay and Anika's wedding, again, Gauri had been an enthusiastic participant throughout... she did everything with her signature gusto and kept everyone happy and on their toes running around like the supposedly happy chiraiyya she was.
But now and then, he would notice when she would go all quiet and a little sad, always going unnoticed by everyone else but her husband. Thinking about it made Omkara want to kick himself. Of course... Gauri didn't have a family anymore, what with her only remaining family member, her adoptive mother at the hospital once again... and her own wedding hadn't really been a celebratory event. She'd never gotten the pre-wedding rasams, the happy memories with her family, the headache of planning, the hectic schedules... hell, she probably hadn't even gotten to choose her own bridal attire.
Even as he watched the rest of the family happily arguing about the pieces of jewelry they would all pick out for each event, he saw Gauri wistfully gaze off into the distance, least bothered about the expensive and glittering pieces of diamond jewelry in front of her. A glimmer of a plan settled into his mind and seeing Gauri dash off a lone tear that made it past her eyelashes quickly before plastering a big smile on her face and plunging into the conversation with Anika and his mom, only made Omkara that much more bent upon executing his plan to fruition.
The first function, Shivaay and Anika's Sagaai... was happening the next day and that was when his plan would go into action too. But before any of it could happen, there were some people he needed to talk to and get on board with his plans.
