Wow!!!!
Just like I had anticipated, as the story progresses it will captivate and excite it's audience. Today's just that happened.
The story is actually very simple and real. But sometimes the simple things take a lot of time to be understood. I have no intentions of being philosophical here but just that it's a matter so taken for granted,t hat no one gives it a second thought. It's practically second nature, the most logical thing for people of that generation and some of even the current one. After a child comes, the mother keeps aside her work to look after him/her. It's obvious right? I mean why wouldn't she?
If the money is needed then still the couple or family may try to find out a way but if the husband earns enough and someone like dev dixit... Why the hell does she need to work?
Sounds right to ishwari and mamiji right?
They do have a point that the child needs 24*7 care but really there are people for that. I also agree that having mom and dad is very important more than others. But that shubh would get. They both come back early evening, thanks to then being owners, and if not one person would be there to look after I am sure.
Plus, many parents do not actually have that luxury. Like my mother is a doctor and she would continue her chamber when we very small. Me and my sister that too. My dad would come back early and she would be late. But she was there. Both of them were. And we turned out to be normal right? Never felt less loved. Actually its very similar to my parents. So the story will always have an extra special place in my heart. It was my father who dropped us here and there, came back early etc. And he did work too.
So it can be done. People just need to be shown another way. I mean we are so set in these gender roles that we have an idea of a mom and dad. Those can change if we do. As simple.
And forget my story, I have seen similar cases in another series Grey's anatomy. Once where Meredith's daughter was hurt and she wasn't there and Derek didn't reply as he was in OT. So she was going through similar concerns then... Mom and doctor. She wanted to do both and of course she can. She did. So I can't be proud enough for my show to have brought out such subtle a matter. I mean the concerns sona were having were very real and understandable. Women are themselves stuck into these gender role perceptions. She felt bad being a mother she wasn't there. Of course she will. It's Only natural and not wrong. But to think she has to give up her job for that probably isn't right too. I mean for me I think every women should have a personal space for herself outside her family. But even if someone doesn't it's okay. Only she should do what she wants to. Not what she is supposed to. And not only women men too.
This is another very subtle point I saw. Here we are singing praises of dev. He deserves them too. But actually he just did what he wanted to. Spend time with his kids. Last seven years his full focus was business and missed out on his kids lives. It's obvious he wants to live then now. And his priority is this and not his work.
But for Sona. She wants to do this project as much as she wants to be with shubh. She knows he is safe and among loving people, so really what's wrong in it
?
At this juncture if she has dev supporting her and both getting what they love.. There is nothing better.
And really how observant dev has become . Loving him now. And sona too. Has become more expressive I think!
I hug with good morning, getting lost in his eyes as he pulls her close, head kisses, video calls, verbal about missing him though teasingly. And as we will see open to him even about his mother. All very refreshing changes.
So I want to see how she communicates this to dev, and how dev comes to his decision. And the family.
Sooo excited
Let me know what you think!
(sorry if I sound preachy!)
