Misogynistic - a good wife will do art projects for the family kids and only a girl friend is good for nothing

Regressive

Misogynist indeed, with the badgering of the girlfriend the man claims to love and marry, while the ostensible elders pronounce the 'other' women as infirm, in the name of culture and being benevolent, juxtaposing her with apparently the 'good wife' by showing the former as despicable and portraying the latter as magnanimous on the cost of the former.

Regressive and convoluted in its own might and yet, the wretched notion that this would find takers in an audience base that precisely consists of more women, both progressive and compelling, was an erroneous hypothesis to begin with.

Cliched, misogynistic and not thought out properly.

I agree with you.

Two women are fighting over a man, without respect for the elders present there.

Nani is keeping mum while this is going on. The family is allowing this to happen in front of the father of the fiance of their married grandson, nephew, cousin . Who is mute and not talking any responsibility for all the ruckus.😕

Isn't the point of Adi's project to be made by Adi himself? With perhaps a little help and guidance from an adult? Did it have to be turned into an opportunity to show how good the traditional wife is? Who by the way can cut, fold and stick without looking at it. :)

@ bold WORD.
Does this mean the person who can not draw and color is not a good wife/mother😭😭😭 😆
Heck i was living under the stone for so many years

Bhavi and Ecri,
I think I will be a really bad mother because I cannot even draw a house and a tree 😭
My husband still doesn't know that's the criteria to be a good wife and a mom. OMG I hope he doesn't watch the show and even if he does I hope he doesn't turn out to be like Advay, who thinks respecting his family is his Wife's responsibility but his family has the luxury to judge her based on her drawing skills 😭

You know as a mother and an educationist, I was pretty appalled by that episode, at the parenting poor Adi is getting in that house! Of course the project should've been made by Adi, anyway a school project being used to humiliate someone and reinforce stereotypes - good girls are those who are good at housework - beats the whole purpose of projects doesn't it?

@bold: When the makers use such stereotypes, it means that their characterisation of the FL isn't working. We shouldn't be subjected to these scenes to see who is positive or negative in relationshipto the ML. What that scene made me think was how bad the family are using Adi, what bad manners he has, and how shameful the moral of it. It didn't make me praise Shivani. I thought she was disrespectful.
