The first first meeting
It was night 9 pm when after the work of the post was completed and it was sent to the HR department of the other branches, chandini took her leave from aayush and was ready to go to her hotel and from there catch her bus at 11 to RC. But she was distracted.
It was not that the biggest cabin was given to her and moreover asked to be prepared in three days that she was worried about. It was in the least position in her list of concern. What she was worried about was that she had to stay in the head office till the project was completed. Although it was first time she had to supervise such a multitude project but it was not the first time she was working in one.
After a year in RC, prem had taken a project which was only second to paradise. And she had been assisting him in that project. So she was not even worried about the work, she knew prem would help her in anyway she asked. And with experience she knew that to complete the project, the preliminary one it would take at least 3 months. Three months to work with advay would be more than challenging task for her.
Till today it was easy because she did not have to face him directly. But right now, she had to work directly under him and moreover with him in this project. She was afraid , afraid that she won't be able to control her emotions, afraid that her hatred would be clear in her face, afraid that her every emotion would be clear in her face. She was terrified that the three persons would read her like a open book, would know her weakness and use it against her. They will break her, try to re mould her.
She was so distracted that she was not aware when she walked down the stairs from the 10th floor to the 1st floor. She stopped in her tracks only when she saw advay in front of her. He was talking to someone while was walking down the stairs with his right hand in his pocket. He stopped near the last flight of stairs. His pose was elegant and he radiated an aura of dominance and demanded respect from everyone who saw him.
She was just 10 steps behind him when she saw it. A girl who was half walking half running was coming towards advay. She lost her footing and shrieked while falling towards the stairs. As she on the verge of falling down, advay used his right hand to stable her and rescued her from falling. But as a result , he lost his own balance and was about to fall from the top step when god knows how chandini knew that this incident was about to happen and within a blink of eye she went near advay and held his right wrist in her grasp tightly.
It was a odd position for them. Had the position been reversed , it would have been a romantic pose. But now it was something like advay was bend like a bow with his right wrist in chandini's hand. The atmosphere was total silent. So silent that a falling leaf would have made a loud noise. Anyone in his place would have been embarrassed with being saved by a girl in a pose like this, but he was not.
He was remembering an incident that took place 4 years back and one look at chandini'd eyes, he saw concern in them.
She had the same emotions in her eyes even then.

3rd july , 2014 , IBS collage, Dehradun
That day the collage had a different kind of buzz in it. The new students had joined and today was their orientation day. Advay, misthi and their group of friends were walking towards the orientation hall to address the freshmen before anybody else could. Advay and his group were popularly known as the force. They were able to justify their name. They were a force to be reckoned with. And why not?? They were not some ordinary group. Each of them had a empire of their father to inherit. The group was led by advay singh raizada and helped by his cousin misthi singh raizada. After a hearty breakfast they were descending down the dining hall and would enter the gallerium , where all the classes and the orientation hall was there.
Most of the group members had taken the left stairs while advay was taking the right one. He wanted privacy because he was talking with his father at that time.
And then it happened.
He felt a gust of wind passing by him and he lost his balance. He was sure he would fall from the second floor stairs and there were at least 50 stairs beneath him. He would break his head and at the very least be in coma for a year. No one knew but he had a phobia from closed places and it was the reason he choose to take stairs and others thought it was because he wanted to be in shape. He was so frightened that he had closed his eyes tight and was waiting for the pain, the fall. But the pain never came.
So it never really hurts while falling. I thought it would hurt a lot. He thought to himself and opened his eyes. The first sight he saw was an angelic face with big dark brown eyes. An angel. So thats why it did not pain. i am in heaven.
Advay was sure that he had died and was in heaven rescued by an angel. He stared at his angel trying to etch her face in his memory so that the next time he is free, he will go in search of her. His angel had beautiful eyes, that was wide right now filled with concern and fear. His heart fluttered a little at the concern in her eyes, but what he could not understand was the reason of the fear. Why was she afraid??? She a beautiful nose that he was sure he won't get tired wile tracing it and a nose that looked even more beautiful with a nose ring in it. He always thought that nose ring made girls look backward and old. But his myth was broken and he knew that his angel was an exception. she looked even more beautiful with a nose ring. He was sure that nose ring was invented only for her. Her lips were neither too big nor too small, it was just perfect. Her skin was neither white nor too dark , just a perfect combination that made her look exotic and all the more desirable.
Slowly she pulled him up and then he noticed that his angel was small. So small her head barely even reach his chest. For him, even her small height was just perfect. Perfect because her head just in line with his heart. When he saw her lips moving he thought that she was saying the secret of universe.
It took a few more minutes to register what she was saying.
Hmm.. are you all right???
It was then he knew in a far corner of his mind that he was not dead and that the person standing in front of him was a girl. As the time passed, he saw the fear in her eyes turn more acute. He had a sudden urge to wipe the fear from her face so he just nodded his head. And then as she sighed in relief he had a wonderful feeling, a feeling that was hard to describe.
I am really sorry. My friend was in hurry to have breakfast, so she did not see you and bumped in to you. I am really sorry.
His angel apologised. Advay did not like his angel apologising for someone else's mistake. So he just nodded his head saying that he was fine and that she had nothing to worry about. And the reward?? A brilliant smile from her that lighted her whole face. He felt, It also lighted his whole life. He wanted to say many thing but for the first time in his life, he was rendered speechless. And just as he was about to say something, someone called
Chandini, the food is about to finish. Come in if you dont want to go to orientation hungry.
Chandini smiled at him and then turned to go towards the dining hall.
Should i start to call her bhabi??? Advay turned to see misthi standing by his side smilling a smug smile. Advay just smiled at his sister and said after the orientation sisi.. and winked at her.
Chandini.. i will be waiting for you in the hall.. advay thought to himself as he walked down tith his sister, unaware about a pair of eyes that had been following him since a long time.

Present time
As chandini pulled him he held her shoulders before he could loose his balance a second time. Truly nothing much has changed since then. After steadying him, chandini took exactly three steps back and distanced herself from him.
By then it was time for the rest of the workers of the day shift to leave the office and the night shift had begun so the office was almost full. It was also the reason that within a minute advay was surrounded by his top level management workers and chandini got the chance she was looking for and escaped from there.
She walked straight without looking back and was out of the office in a minute. Had she looked back, she would have seen the astonished expressions of the workers who were wondering what kind of a crazy girl was she. She helped the devil save his life and then was walking out without taking anything in return. While some thought maybe she was afraid of him some thought she lost such a golden chance of making a fortune some thought she was just a foolish girl.
It was already half an hour and she was waiting for a taxi to arrive. She had a bus at 11. Maybe she would have to go hungry afterall. But she can pack a bag of chips and few biscuit packets from the road side shop for safety cautious. Thinking this she looked at the shop in front of her and then quickly walked to cross the road and buy them. She quickened her steps when she was in the middle of the road and saw a car approaching in a high speed. She breathed a sigh of relief when she crossed the road and asked the shopkeeper for what she needed. It was then that she saw in a glass jar some loose cakes were placed. Loose cakes... there were many memories of them. So she asked for 3 pieces of those cakes too. After everything was packed, she paid and then turned back only to find a taxi approaching. Thanking her luck, she hired it and said her address. Not even bothering to look at the black car that was standing at some distance.
