ShiVika RiKara and RuVya fans peep in- PARALLELS DRAWN

Well Ishqbaaz's initial promo had a line in the voice over

"YE EK KAHANI KE TEEN KISSE HAI

There was one parallel of mind, body and soul that has been discussed to death. There is another one. Shivaay Omkara and Rudra are namesakes of Lord Shiva.

In other words, a story of lord Shiva told in three different chapters.

Shivaay and Annika:: Lord Shiva and Sati.

Sati and Shiva's love story has shiva treating her like a princess after falling in love with her and then going into destructive mode when he loses her. We have already seen Shivaay's self-destructive mode during separation. Also Shivaay will easily turn into a destroyer if any harm falls upon Annika. Here Shivaay is the Lord Shiva in the destructive mode when angry.

Also, Sati comes from the world of established religion, the order of the dharma and marries into a world of asceticism, and so combining in her the two opposing worlds. In this aspect Sati functions as a mediator, trying to bring the two worlds together.

Here it's the other way round with Shivaay in the world of riches with the whole NKK thing while Annika comes from a poor background.

Omkara and Gauri:: Shiva and Parvati

Parvati was very beautiful and she loved Shiva with a lot of devotion. Even as a young girl Parvati was in love with Lord Shiva. In an effort to win his love and affection she decided to visit the cave where he was meditating and started cleaning and decorating it. However he remained unmoved by her love and dedication.

Shiva doesn't recognise her as the reincarnation of his wife Sati and falls for her and marries her when he does. Here Omkara who is first unmoved by Gauri is now overwhelmed by her devotion and everything Gauri has done for him but he is not giving her the status of his wife.

Rudra and Bhavya:: Shiva and Kali

Here Kali is the destroyer while Shiva is the preserver. Bhavya is the tough cop who takes the avatar of Kali and handles ten goons on her own. While Rudra is the silent one who hold the family, brings a calm, different balance in her life

Mythology isn't my strong point .. I have tried drawing parallels as well as I could.

You can add your pointers and analysis especially those who know more about all this. It is wonderful to have information.

Also, this isn't a comparison or bashing post. All fandoms are welcome in linking the insights to your favorite couple or even contradicting them, but keep it healthy. Also if your idea of providing insights is by being sarcastic, be prepared to get an equally sarcastic reply.

For those who want me to dumb things down, these are mere parallels drawn to a broader IB storyline. This is, in no ways, a discussion about screen space, about who is the lead couple or who should be shown the door. For that, we will meet on a different battleground..

Shiv-Sati:

Sati's father was a king and was against his daughter's marriage with Shiv who was an ascetic and lived simply. He was persuaded by his father Lord Brahma and he gave in. But he was stil insulted and planned a havan and didn't invite Shiv in order to insult him. Sati went to the havan and felt insulted and self immolated herself. Shiv on hearing of his wife's death did tandav and beheaded King Daksh. He roamed the universe with Sati's dead body and then retreated to Mount Kailash to mourn and meditate.

This fits ShivIka - King Daksh parallel Pinky who planned the separation, Sati's immolation is the separation track, Shiv's tandav and roaming with Sati's body parallels Shivaay becoming numb and going into the self destruction mode

Shiv-Parvati-

Parvati was devoted to Shiv and did tapas to get him as her husband which parallels all the things that Gauri is doing and how much she is trying in this relationship. Shiv didn't want to marry Parvati at first until Lord Vishnu persuaded him and her devotio moved him which parallels Om's current situation

Shiv-Mahakali:

The story that I know about Mahakali is that Parvati was asked by the Gods to take a mahakali rooop inorder to slay an asur who could only be killed by a woman. But after slaying the asur, she couldn't be calmed down and continued to wreak havoc until Shiv laid down in her way. Mahakali stepped on Shiv and realized who she was standing on and returned to her Parvati roop.

I guess in this one, Rudra will be the Shiva of the story who will bring emotions and love in Bhavya's life which parallels the Mahakali and Shiv story

like the parallels drawn to the couples in IB

1) Annika isnt Sati, well i dont feel so at all because Annika has the characteristics of both Sati,Parvati and Durga here

the reasoning for this is Annika is as emotional and impulsive as Sati was- proved when she left SSO after being blackmailed by Pinky and also she has the patience and forgiveness and peaceful characteristic of Parvati- this has been shown throughout the whole show actually with her journey. i will further add that Annika does also have some characteristics of Durga, because she's a fighter in her life and is like a mother to everyone- Sahil and sometimes even Omru. Durga is known as the invincible form of Parvati

2) i have to add that again Gauri has both Parvati and Bhairavi inside of her, this is again backed by what we got during the dangal track, the level to which Gauri went during that Dangal is apt as a parallel to when Parvati always loses control and becomes Bhairavi. Bhairavi is known as the ferocious side of Parvati

3) about Bhavya i'm unable to find anything for her, she isnt Kali, because Kali was the form which couldnt be stopped when in angry mode. Maybe we can refer her to the Shakti form because she's representative of power in IB

this is just my POV, and my knowledge may be a bit limited. Note that i intend no hurt or offense to religious beliefs here😊

I like this. Annika is a mix of Sati, Parvati and Durga. She is impulsive, forgiving and can be a fighter when needed...Good job ashi👏😆

AASHTI, JUDIE WANTED TO POST BUT SHE CAN'T SO THIS IS FROM HER:

Beginning of ShivIka journey is paralleled to Shiv-Sati..Shiv hesitation to accept Sati was due to her being human and tied down to all human emotions, lust,ego etc and Shivaay denial about his feelings for Annika was due to NKK...their story started like Shiv-Sati but on the way it transitioned to Shiv-Parvati. Just like Parvati had to do tapas to get Shiv as her husband, Annika had to go through that as well.

Shiv warned Sati not to go to her father's havan but yet her ego, stubbornness and her love for her Shiv made her go against Shiv...just like Shivaay asked Annika why she was behaving like she did prior to separation but Annika refused to tell him, to top to that, she left him for his sake just like how Sati went to her father's havan for the sake of Shiv...

Sati's human emotions that made her go to the havan parallel Annika's insecurities that led to her leaving Shivaay...

ShivIka's story was paralleled to Shiv-Sati until Annika walked out for the sake of Shivaay, just like Sati went to havan for Shiv. After the separation when Annika came back to OM, ShivIka's story stopped reflecting Shiv-Sati and started drawing parallel to Shiv-Parvati
