I don't see any buzz for Simran tbh. TV interviews, city tours, controversies etc hardly affect the box office collections of movies. If the trailer has clicked, audience will come to watch your film on first day. Simran will completely depend on WOM. Lucknow Central can also give competition to Simran as both the movies are targeting the same urban multiplex crowd.
If Simran is a good movie, it'll be a Hit, otherwise it's a sureshot disaster.
I don't think anyone claims Kangana to be a Superstar. Actually no actress currently in Bollywood is a crowdpuller.
As for Judwaa 2, from the looks of the trailer I see that the movie is trying to cash on the nostalgia factor. The movie looks like a spoof trying to be a remake and is being portrayed as a sequel. Varun comes as pathetic when he tries to copy Govinda. Govinda was natural and effortless in doing comedy. Varun tries too hard. Comparison with the original will also hurt the film.
Slapstick comedy genre is outdated The story itself is outdated. They have just set it in a modern time.
David Dhawan stopped making good movies long time ago, and here he has remaked his own film. There are high chances that he has messed up the product. This movie doesn't has anything new to offer except 'entertainment' which is kinda subjective and we will know about that only after the movie is released.
Anyway, The movie will still be a HIT because of Holiday release and low budget(duh!! Like always).
But Munna Michael also flopped this year, so who knows?? Jumping monkeys might have stopped selling at box office. 😆
