If I had to describe Rishton Ka Chakravyuh, I would say 'Gripping story, excellent acting and a show where every single relationship is complicated.'
And that in itself is a reason to watch the show.
From the first episode itself we saw that all the inhabitants of Lal mahal had secrets. Starting with the strong Satrupa who gave away her child because Guruji had told her to. The only problem was she gave away the wrong child. Guruji had asked her to give away the eldest but she chose to keep her son and give away her daughter. Was it because she wanted to keep her son near her or was it because she wanted to protect her daughter?
And Baldev. A man who comes across as weak and appearing to feel shame for having a child out of wedlock and vehemently refusing to accept Anami as his daughter. Baldev and Satrupa have no relationship at all and were only bound by their love for their son Vatsalya.
Vatsalya. The truly innocent one of the family who was adored by his parents and Grandparents. A loving child who even had compassion for his half-brother Narotham who is despised by the rest of the family. But even he had enemies. His Uncle Pujan hated him for being chosen by Daadaji to run the company which he believed was his right.
Pujan is a wolf in sheep's clothing. Ready to appear meek and submissive in front of the family but all the while plotting to take over everything. He was ready to gamble his life's son in order to get what he wanted. And he has the support of his bully son Avdoot and equally ambitious wife Kaamini to do what he wants.
And the heroine of the story. Anami.
A feisty, strong yet loving girl who grew up hating her birth mother. Desperate to be the real daughter of Pandit and his wife, she is lashing out and is determined to make everyone's life hell in Lal Mahal. Especially her mother's. The ironic thing though is that Anami is exactly like Satrupa. They are both strong and stubborn, yet have the ability to love and care deeply. Despite Satrupa not showing her feelings, she does care so much for Anami. When Anami slept with hunger pains, stubbornly refusing to eat, it was Satrupa's heart that cried.
And not forgetting Sudha who is in a mental home but seems to know everything that happens in the Lal mahal. Who is she and what is her connection to the inhabitants of the palace.
It is so refreshing to see a show where no one is perfect. As openly evil as Pujan is, Satrupa, Baldev, Narottam and even Daadaji seem too have many hidden secrets. It will be interesting to watch all the layers of each mystery unfold and how every life in that household will be affected.
An intriguing show with great acting and direction.
