What an episode. All the way through it was all about heartaches and memories. Sadness engulfed today's episode and I'm glad they kept on one track. If they had suddenly jumped from a heartfelt scene to Pujan scheming or Adhiraj investigating, it would have ruined the full mood of the show.
Instead I felt really sad, yet glad throughout. Let me explain.
First Madhu and Murari Pathak. The Yashoda and Nanda of today's chakravyuh. Anami was their Krishna. Not born to them, but their child. And their heartache was so...well, for lack of a better word...heartwrenching! Murari can't trust anyone anymore when it comes to Anami and rightfully so. He trusted Satrupa and Guruji and was deceived in the worst way possible, by having a part of his heart wrenched away. And while on the surface it appears that Madhu isn't hurt, but I felt that even she can't trust anyone and if Murari had tried to say anything she would have stopped him. What I felt glad about in this scene was how Madhu tried to console Murari and give him courage. She didn't bog him down with her feelings. It felt so real because I've experienced it myself several times from both perspectives.
Then we move onto another father's anguish, Baldev's anguish. He receives Vatsalya's belongings and starts going through his poetry and his belongings and remembering every moment with him. The background music just added to the ache in this scene as Baldev tried not to show his tears in front of Vatsalya's friends, but couldn't help himself either. And it contrasted nicely with Anami playing outside with the kids because in a way it paved the way for the future. The future where his daughter will become his new son, his new friend, his new partner.
It also contrasted nicely with the next scene where Baldev and Anami face-off. After remembering sweet memories with Vatsalya, Baldev went on to create bitter memories with Anami, which may one day come back to bite him when he starts seeing Anami as his child. The best part about this scene and what made me glad was that Dadi didn't let anyone interfere with their encounter. She wants the two to resolve their own matter and whether she accepts it or not, she has started to see Anami as her granddaughter. The last few seconds of this scene were priceless though. As Anami faints and falls on the ground, you can see the concern etched on Baldev's face. He may, on the surface, be angry at Anami and refuse to accept her, but somewhere deep down he knows that she is his daughter and he can't help but be concerned for her.
As much as I hate Satrupa on some days, there are many scenes in which she gets to me. And the final set of scenes was one of those. She not only sits by Anami while the doctor treats her, but forces Anami to be treated. Then she does what she is sure will make Anami melt. She calls Murari and Madhu. And this is where we see Anami finally breaking down. We see her stone, rigid, angry exterior crumble to reveal how raw she is on the inside. At the end of the day, Anami has been torn away from her parents. She has been thrown into this unknown world where everyone hates her by the one person that she has hated her entire life. She came to this world to take revenge for the insult her parents faced. And as much as she tries to hide the pain, she can't, especially when speaking to her parents. This scene surely made me tear up. In fact the entire episode just built up to it and then this episode did it. But what I enjoyed the most in this scene is how Satrupa just watched from afar as Anami finally broke her hunger strike for her parents and ate. She didn't try to force Anami to eat or stand there and watch Anami eat. She just watched from afar and let her heart be content with the fact that Anami was eating again.
An absolutely beautiful episode. Just beautiful.
