I didn't want to make a separate post today, as I have been throwing my rants back to back these days and probably driving a lot of you insane, BUT:
I, for one, could never imagine Shivay speaking about his love out loud not even to himself, let alone to anyone else. And truth be told, even if he did say that he loves her a few days back, I don't think It would have gotten this degree of satisfaction from the audience, neither do I think it would have fallen under the right context and be in the correct scheme of the track.
Now that I think of the old ruthless Shivay who had thrown Anika behind the bars, snatched everything away from her in a matter of a day, involved her into forced marriage, had always been keen about her background that had come as a baggage between their happy marriage life, had his faith wobble whenever she had spoken against his family member, fiance or anyone and anything else, kicked her out of the house in span of a few minutes forgetting everything she had done for him and his family, to the Shivay now who conceded infront of the media about the insignificance of Naam-Khoon-Khandan in his life, his open announcement that Anika is his wife, his transformation from the top business tycoon to a deeply-in-love husband as he kneeled down to propose her and finally today, his open confession about his love for this insane woman...
They had revealed a new shade of Shivay after every track, breaking the shell he is surrounded by, one by one. When Daksh finally got exposed, we had gotten to see his restlessness when she wasn't talking to him, his deliberate and genuine apology that he had never given her before. When Shivay took the bullet for Anika (during Tia track) and Anika had decided to walk out of his life when Pinky asked her to, we witnessed what a lunatic he behaved like to bring her back in his home and life despite knowing how Pinky would react, and we realized that Shivay can't survive even a second without her. During Kamini track, when Daksh had accused her to be his mistress, we had witnessed him to announce infront of the whole world that she is his wife, despite the fact that Naam khoon khaandan still was a great deal for him at that point of time. When Anika had taken a bullet for HIM, we got a glimpse of his care and affection for her that had increased many folds, to a point that he had started ignoring his own mother without his conscious mind.
And finally when such a repulsive side of his own mother who he had loved and respect with his entirety, all his life, came into light, all kinds of baggage, and all types of barriers that had ever layered and masked the husband in Shivay had been peeled off and he had come out as a pure, transparent man who is head over heels in love and with a total change in perception for the woman who had sacrificed her everything to see him happy, as he announced in absolute resolution in his eyes how meaningless Name-blood-Lineage is to him. His value changed, his love for this woman grew many many many folds, and his perception towards her changed entirely...
I don't think I could have asked for a stronger way of showing the character growth of Shivay. I have started watching hindi shows since the time of Kyun ki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu thi. My journey had been from being an obsessed audience of all Ekta Kapoor Shows to Gul Khan's IPKKND and Qubool Hai, but I can swear on my life, this level of gradual character growth that too with such impeccability is what I am witnessing for the first time!
I got to know about IB just 4-5 months ago and I binge watched to catch up on the episode and I won't deny the fact that I had to gather a lot of patience when I had seen Shivay's behavior being so arrogant, egoistical, and irrational towards Anika. I mean, after each track I would feel like pulling my hair and scream why this man is having such a massive trust issue when he is already aware of what this woman has done for him and his family. But now that I think of it, we wouldn't have our heart swollen with this amount of satisfaction if he had started trusting her from the initial tracks. This is the SSO we are talking about, it is one heck of a job to break his rock hard shells to see through the real shivay.This Pinky-Exposed track had finally broken the last shell he had built around himself and he has come out as the Ishqbaaaz Shivay who is boundlessly and irrevocably in love with Anika! ❤️
I have never had any complaints or held any grudges against Gul and Harneet and I hope it remains the same in future. My immense love and respect for these two rebellious ladies. May you rise up and high with much more success on your way...🥳
