Neil was stuck for words in this scene. I think not only was it guilt for thinking he falsely accused avni, but his self-respect was wounded with avni's accusation that he doesn't respect women and accusation of using his position in law enforcement to invade her privacy/ personal space, that too without the assistance of a female officer. For a dignified man life neil, who respects women a lot, being accused by a woman for disrespecting her, assaulting her in any way is a major blow to his self-respect. The accusation on his integrity was a rude shock for him.
