Based on the promos and what the maid said in the first episode it seems like Satrupa doesn't even know that she had twins. I think she just thought she had one. Or maybe she does know.

Whatever it is, Anami is a girl and it seems that if she had lived then she might have been the older child and thus the waaris, which obviously can't be because she's a girl. So if she had stayed in the house, she would have been killed or shunned or something along those lines so that the boy could be the waaris. Now either Satrupa gave Anami away or the maid decided herself to give Anami away in a bid to save her life.

Interesting thought - though I mean they could have just pretended the boy was older by minutes and no one would know... Perhaps as a family they don't allow any girl children to live 😕 and so the parents, help, and priest colluded to save her...? But then they haven't harmed Narottam who they all seem to dislike so it's still a bit of a puzzle...

I do think Satrupa gave her away willingly- Narayani in an interview acknowledged that Anami's angst against her mother was justified...also the writer of the show compared Anaami to Karna and said that she is a female Karna.

So the dynamic between the two of them will be like Karna and Kunti from the Mahabharat I guess.

Ah this parallel between Karna-Kunti and Anami-Satrupa intrigues me...! Thanks for sharing.

I've just watched an episode and it looks very promising. The premise of the show got me interested.
Strong acting overall and nice pace. Narayani is really good and natural, and so is the girl playing Anami.

Yea, the premise is interesting and the fact that it has strong performers buttresses the appeal. Narayani and Mahima are amazing and I am glad they are playing the lead roles here!😳

satrupa giving away anami is a mystery...even if she couldn't have been the heir, why give her away?...I don't think the family would shun a legitimate girl child just the way it shuns narrottam...

Yes and from the looks of it, seems like a mystical reason😆 I think it will be something like Anami was a danger to Vatsalya or something like that.

Absolutely.

Very riveting this show is. And the best part is the show lived up to what it promised in the promos.
